Great Disappointment for Prestigious Institution

Pros

- Friendly colleagues - The bar is extremely low, both a pro and a con

Cons

- Nepotistic and egregious behavior that is never corrected, controlled and is possibly encouraged - Government bureaucracy and lack of understanding in how to run operations efficiently - No proper feedback mechanism for anyone, which allows the entire organization to suffer from inappropriate behavior that is damaging to the organization - Leadership doesn't act in good faith - There's a reason that the ethics training states "don't do it if it would look bad in the newspaper" versus "don't do it if it's illegal". Clearly, the strategy is to manage appearances and not authentically account for bad behavior. It's no wonder universities are the source of untold scandals.

Cons

1. No well-defined job responsibilities in marketing department. When it comes to problems, nobody wants to take the blame. 2. Diluted value of manager positions. Basically everyone is manager here. 3. Lack of clear framework for projects implementation. Sometimes you've got several directions for one project. 4. Directors sometimes pause marketing campaigns without any reasons. Lack of professionalism and respect.

Pros

UNEX has really great benefits with time off, health. People are good people who just want to get the job done but also try to make it a fun working environment. Made good friend with co-workers. Westwood is a great location.

Cons

Difficult to have job growth here. Dean is trying to do too much all at once and has made extremely poor business decisions. He claims he is transparent and is open to feedback but he has already made up his mind. Tries to do everything at once without slowing down and truly executing each project thoughtfully and carefully. Yet, he will not take any accountability for any of these actions. Marketing strategy doesn't know what they're doing.
