Do not want remote workers, has been the line from HR since 2018 when I first joined. I have an ADA covered disability and it took threatening legal action to get reasonable accommodations. Also for people who have piercings and different colored hair a quote from HR, "We wouldn't not hire someone because of that, but they would have to overcome that first impression to get a position". Many fellow employees commented they had been told they had not received promotions based on their appearance. My department had mandatory overtime for well over a year because they wouldn't hire people, and it was only after talk of people ready to quit in mass that they started hiring this year. At least half of that was hiring offshore people from a vendor.

Senior Management moves toward political stances often.

Ruined by an absolutely toxic and lousy management style that shows utter disregard for the welfare and wellbeing of employees. So called 'care' and 'support' for work environment and wellbeing of employees totally overridden by management, and sponsored (ignored) by HR / Senior management.

Forget career progression if you are competent as they prefer those that talk a good game and not those that deliver. IT & Change leadership is toxic and blocks delivery or takes credit for work of others. The IT estate is 'state of the ark' and the IT leadership has no idea of how their teams work in practise. The change team leadership couldn't deliver a pizza let alone a project. Organisation lacks a real strategy / objective. There seems to be an entire layer of department heads who talk high level strategy which is basically praying that AI fixes it. Constant promises from senior management to makes changes to IT or business processes but it never happens.

Joined a really positive business with clear values. Leadership change and that whole culture has been destroyed in favour of nepotism, game playing of ancient Rome political betrayal levels in only a few years. Forced office mandate enforced by spreadsheets, complete layoff of all skilled and experienced staff to higher elevate senior management. Everyone's jittery about their jobs, cost cutting has started at silly levels and they preach they want to help everyone with wellbeing. Can only see a downward spiral from here with this toxic environment.
