Pros

- Interesting and impactful work - Tech team is given autonomy over work and room to explore and integrate new frameworks/technologies in the tech stack - Great culture and people - Remote work policy - Experienced leadership team

Cons

International/Remote first team, so we don’t all see each other in person that often.

Pros

I have been a Lead Software Engineer at Util for a year now, and I have to say I enjoy my job very much. The company provides a lot of autonomy to its employees, which I find to be a huge plus. The code base is of high quality and the people I work with are talented and friendly, making for a relaxed and enjoyable work environment. Another big advantage of working here is the fact that it's a fully remote company, which provides a lot of flexibility and comfort. The compensation is also very competitive and Util offers an employee share option scheme, as well as unlimited holidays. One of the best things about Util is the product itself, as it's not only high quality, but it also helps contribute to a better planet, making me feel fulfilled and proud to work here.

Cons

As Util grows, I worry that the culture might get lost in bureaucracy, which would be a shame. Also, the amount of work is growing and the backlog is becoming quite large, which may lead to having to make compromises and take shortcuts, resulting in technical debt. I have had a great experience working at Util and would definitely recommend it to others, with the caveat that some growing pains may arise as Util continues to expand.
