      Pros

      non-managerial people are generally pretty nice.

      Cons

      Poorly managed Chinese run company. No respect or integrity toward employees. Depending on your direct boss, you could end up in a position having nothing to do all day but people still watching behind your back all the time. Or a "busy" position chasing after nothing. Quite a bit employees got terminated without any severance pay. They don't call it layoff, just job termination. I am surprised to see no one has sued VIA yet.

      Pros

      The people are usually friendly and cordial. Easy going atmosphere on the most part if you are part of the engineering staff.

      Cons

      Pay is significantly lower compared to the SF bay area average. Depending on the managers you get, it can range from bad to worse. You are more often than not micro-managed because the political infighting is severe. CYA is the norm here so no one wants to take responsible for anything. Overall bad management and poor leadership causing internal strife, lost of morale, and poor business performance.

      most people are easy to get alone with.

      Cons

      one of the lowest paying company in the industry. hr have total control over performance incentives and raises; however, they do not know your day to day task. lack of support from management. they do layoffs without reasonable severance.
