Pros

Overall, the office attitude is very positive. Every morning M-F you have a meeting and some training, with some Conference Calls peppered in. They definitely give you the tools you need to be successful in the field.

Cons

So despite the pros there are some very questionable things going on within that company. First, you have to dress EXTREMELY professional in the office, despite having to sit on the floor. You have to hear A TON of redundant information, such as sitting in on the same meeting 2-3x in the same week, as well as calling suppliers and hearing them describe what you'll be "selling" (They don't think of themselves as sales, but that is what the job boils down to). They will NOT let you interact with other entry levels, which makes no sense because they want you to network, but only with approved higher ups who talk to you in a circle of the same ambiguity. In the field, you will spend several weeks "selling" products at wholesale clubs. They promise you will make commission, which is how you get promoted, but if you don't hit a certain threshold, you will be making roughly $7/hr (the person that will hire you fails to mention the below-min-wage part and will explain how you will be making roughly $800+/mo, which is super misleading as it seems like you will be making a base). It's also very difficult to hit the marks sometimes. There is also the issue of resource calling in the field, which is loosely required but if you fail to do they crack down on you. It seems somewhat unnecessary to be constantly calling people to check in, but if you don't, don't expect to be promoted quickly. The last major red flag was that you are told to stress 'needs' as opposed to 'wants' in the products you're selling. You're not selling anything anyone really needs, but if you don't act like what you're selling is going to help bring about the second coming of Christ, they get mad. It gets a bit overwhelming and the way they do things (as in make you yell stuff in the office, not being allowed to sit on chairs on the clock, if you're seen eating or drinking you get reprimanded, etc...) and it sort of has a cult feeling to it.

Pros

I have read all of the previous reviews, and a lot of what people say is true. Positive office space. Supportive people. Team nights. Sense of belonging.

Cons

But one thing you will notice is that all these five star reviews all say the same vague things. Growth! Opportunity! Advancement! No cons to name! One review says people do not give it a chance, and that could be true, but you do not need to be in the business for long to know what it is about. There is nothing mysterious about what Vanguard does, and in my experience I think all the one star reviews are fair and accurate. Look at the one star reviews, because they actually paint a very specific picture.

Pros

The people working at Vanguard are super nice. They keep you motivated and feeling like you're truly part of a team. And that's how they suck you in, making you feel like a special inside member.

Cons

You will be standing in a Sam's Club from 11am-7pm or later IF you impress them enough to get hours. The people in the mall who try to force you to try things, that's what you will be doing in a Sam's Club. And you will be making MINIMUM WAGE. They show you a timeline that shows you will be making big money fast, but in reality, you will be making minimum wage for at least a year. There are also meetings every morning you have to go to even on your day off, and you have to call and do a breakdown every night after your "event." So you will be working 12-14 hour days, 7-10 days straight, with only an hour break during your shift that you have to split up into mini-breaks, only taking 10-20 minutes at a time including BATHROOM BREAKS.
