I have been working at Varonis Systems full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Huge integrity, great technology, structured and dynamic. The way the leadership team manages the business can be challenging for some but if you are worth your weight and do any decent sales person and / or sales leader should, knuckle down and get on with hard work then it's full of opportunity. I've seen some people criticise Varonis for micro-managing. That's not true, it does no such thing. All I've experienced so far is a constant focus on key indicators to help guide and identify where there are areas that need attention. the company does everything it can to support me and my team. This is a strong company with virtue and ethics. If you are confident in your abilities and comfortable in yourself as a person then Varonis is a fantastic company and people are treated incredibly fairly and in truth incredibly well.

    Cons

You can end up not taking holiday due to the relentless nature but leadership always encourage people to take their holiday.

I worked at Varonis Systems full-time for less than a year

    Pros

UK team are really good. Product is very capable with good direction.

    Cons

On-boarding consisted of 8 weeks of disjointed Microsoft onenote bullet points and inconsistent online learning unrelated to role. Certain management in the USA is rude, arrogant and a micromanager. Employment contract for UK employees reporting in to USA management leaves a lot to be desired. Does not fit with EU/UK employment law and your statutory rights as a UK / EU citizen. They seem to manage and rule with a mentality of fear and bullishness. Don't believe all the product marketing hype.

    "Great Technology but not Culture"

    1.0
Former Employee - Account Manager in London, England

I worked at Varonis Systems full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great technology Kitchen is full stocked

    Cons

Micro-management is not for everyone. Weekly metrics means the pace is fast and intense. No structure on resource allocation for commercial team means lead distribution can be unequal and based on favoritism and relationships- which means some will end up hitting the weekly metric and targets easier than others.

I worked at Varonis Systems full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Support when you need it (You just have to ask!) - Thorough initial training - Kick-off in the US - Excellent presidents club initiative - Opportunity to sell and complete demos rather than handing over to the SE every time! - Fantastic technology - Proven methodology and way of selling that can be repeated in any sales role and along with hard work can guarantee success - Metrics provide a clear path to close business - Work smart & hard = you will succeed - 360 degree role, one day your channel manager, one day your new business development and the next your closing business (Wide range of responsibility & exposure) - Company maturing in almost every way - Working from home and excellent flexibility - Team dedicated to booking new business meetings for reps, work closely with them and they are invaluable

    Cons

    - If you don't work hard & be proactive you will fall short of metrics which will lead to pressure (isn't that the same in every sales role?) - Company working through a lot of change however positive steps are quite clearly being taken - Metric-driven (But only as a result of a proven & successful methodology) - UK Channel model is on the right path - Comp plan confusion when transitioning to subscription pricing however this WILL improve

I worked at Varonis Systems full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The product has always been very strong, and no doubt will continue to be strong in an increasingly competitive market. There is decent money to be made as a Sales Rep, but the market is becoming saturated, and there is generally too many sales reps within the UK, which only changed due to the massively high attrition. There were some great people at Varonis, but most left unfortunately.

    Cons

The culture is and has always been terrible. Unfortunately senior management lack the empathy and EQ to correctly manage people, so most of the best people have left or will leave. If you interview, I would suggest asking how long each Sales rep has been with the company, and you will learn the truth. The imposed metrics make sense to some degree, but micro-managing your every move does not, hence the best people leaving frequently.

I worked at Varonis Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Lovely office, stocked Kitchen, PS4

    Cons

The PS 4 is the best thing about it.... They sell you the dream in the interview, they even talk about metrics but don't really go into detail about how invasive the metrics are - it is all encompassing. I believe they are more interested in the metrics than selling the solution - which is proving more difficult as the days go by. The people as individuals are ok, no real "team" from leadership - they want you in the office every day now - as that is how sales is done. If you start to struggle seniors managements advice is to pick up the phone more, push more for a meeting - there is never anything constructive. You are always made to feel as though you are an inch from being sacked.
