The creative projects are good, the hours are not so much

Pros

Everyone is very nice to each other and the collaboration is great. I get good creative briefs that give me a lot of freedom to explore ideas The benefits are good, for example there is a trip at christmas time I feel there is room to progress still in my role.

Cons

I feel a bit like I missed the 'old days' that people talk about how the agency was smaller and there was more time to do things. A lot of people are talking about 'burn out' and some people are starting to leave because they are too burned out Our team managers are not very hands on with the work and I would like them to be more involved, sometimes I feel like no one knows what I am working on. For the hours I am doing I feel my salary is not as big as it should be.

Pros

-Great clients -Awesome office/s -Ability to work on projects from beginning to end and to have a say in client meetings. -Talented and switched on people, full-timers as well as freelancers -Creative work is constantly being pushed into brilliant spaces, designers and developers work in harmony together to create great outputs -Latest software and tech to work with -Encouraged to push boundaries with creative work and to explore possibilities with new web technologies -Beautiful surroundings in Richmond -Varied projects with ebooks, websites, long pages and motion work -Socials with teams, office and away trips -New starter buddy system and lunches -Dog Friendly -Open to suggestions on improvements -Co-founders are super intelligent, well respected and care about their people -The people make Velocity a friendly and genuine place to work

Cons

-Below average industry pay, tough to ask for more -Promotions are rare within the agency, only a few per year -Management/Heads of department’s/Seniors are too busy to manage the day-to-day or to check in with staff -Project management on some projects is lacking, therefore, overpromising can happen, leaving teams under tight deadlines and having to work longer hours. People care about the work and the company, but this can only go on for so long.

Great for learning, less for growing

Pros

Velocity is packed with very, very smart people who believe in what they're doing. As long as you share that enthusiasm, you'll get on brilliantly. It's a brilliant place to learn a lot in no time at all.

Cons

They describe working at Velocity as a cult, and they mean it as a good thing. Everyone is very close, and there's an expectation the job becomes your life. If you're not into that, you'll struggle. Also, I found the pay below market rates and it was hard to see how to progress in the organisation.
