I have been working at Verathon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Interviewers unanimously showed excitement about company direction
Positively viewed by friends & former coworkers that were recently hired
Focused on building company culture after some high turnover years
Offers meaningful work and ability to make an impact on the world

    Cons

Interview process stretched over several months (glad I waited)
Pace of development feels much different in such a highly regulated industry

    Advice to Management

Continue driving positive changes that have started

I worked at Verathon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Verathon's products are inspiring and allow a certain level of pride for employees. Many employees are hard workers and go the extra mile to achieve lofty goals.

    Cons

Management needs a wake up call. RETAIN YOUR TALENTED EMPLOYEES!!! Verahton's retention levels are absolutely atrocious and that has been the norm for several years now. Talented employees are overworked, underappreciated and that leads directly to their attrition levels. Verathon's executive leadership team needs to find a way to listen to the employees without the manager's filter to see what is really going on with them. I think that Verathon's middle management is the real problem and is not sending the right message to the executive team about the needs of the employees and how best to deliver to Verathon's goals.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees directly. Identify the REAL contributors to the company and pick their brains about what Verathon really needs.

STOP allowing managers to hire friends of theirs without interviewing other candidates that may be better qualified. This is a huge cancer that only creates disgruntled employees.

    I worked at Verathon full-time

    Pros

Broad product lines, profitable, and good market share.

    Cons

Bottom line focused exclusively. No career path in the lower to middle ranks. Management wants to only hear good news.

    Advice to Management

With social media, everyone knows this is not a good place for a long term career, except for those in the good old boys club in Seattle and in Florida (holding company that owns Verathon).

I have been working at Verathon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

CEO and Sr. Staff are new (about a year into their time) and are clearly doing all of the right things. Employees are treated like they matter, the new product roadmap is brilliant and there is a lot of opportunity to create, excel, participate and learn.

    Cons

Very little downside. If I had to pick one thing, it would be the old and disparate systems but there is an aggressive and well funded plan to solve this problem during 2018.

    Advice to Management

Keep going on the path we're on!

I have been working at Verathon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Current department heads have caught up on past mistakes needing adressing left to them and moving forward, messes left by past management adressed and new products in the stream.

Great team bonding and ability to work together

    Pleasant atmosphere and healthy workplace

    Cons

I cant really think of anything glaring. I have never got out of bed dreading goin to work. Not once... Other than having to get out of bed ;)

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what youre doing. The newest crew is fantastic. A FAR cry from what I witnesssed when initially hired as a contracter wondering what the heck was going on... And the later efforts by past leadership. The current leadership and management is fantastic. Ive been afforded alot of growth and opportunity.

I like it here and dont see any reason to even think of leaving

    I worked at Verathon full-time

    Pros

Vacation time starts at three weeks.

    Cons

The New Executive Management Team is very arrogant. They turn a blind eye and don't want to hear what the employees really want. Extremely high turnover. Management says they want to keep the top talent, but push top talent out. Executive Management want's Verathon to be be the best place to work, yet hasn't done anything to show they really do mean what they say.

Systems are OLD. Everything is manual and management does not want to hire new employees to help out with work loads after team members leave.

There is no work life balance. You are looked down upon if you don't want to work overtime.

    Management/employee relationships are unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

Really listen to your employees and take them seriously when they tell you what would make this a great place to work. Stop brushing employees off and learn how to be respectful. Be humble. Be kind. Work on recruiting top talent. Work on KEEPING top talent.

I have been working at Verathon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The overall potential for the company; The product and effect it has on the industry and the end user

    Cons

Lack of opportunity for growth; Lack of communication and planning between departments; Common to repeat same mistakes and errors; Slow to evolve and improve technology

    Advice to Management

Communication between departments and teams lacks and delays/disrupts flow of products to customers. Stand behind what you say, when you talk about coaching and developing employees.
