Pros

The only positive thing that Versar did was pay me on time.

Cons

Versar stripped end-of-year bonuses and didn't communicate it out to their employees. Instead, they sent an email out notifying everyone an additional $50 was added to their paycheck, before taxes, and a plastic coffee mug was given. They dropped the 401K matching and instead said between 0-3% would possibly be matched based on the company's performance. I came to BayFirst, which is now Versar, in Q1, but Versar enacted a new policy to do pay raises in Q4. That means that I’d have to go without a raise for two years. They expected employees to wait two years for a pay raise. With inflation up 7%, that’s not acceptable and when HR was presented with a question regarding having to wait, it took days to get a response. After months of policy changes without communications, I decided to find an employer that valued my talent while providing benefits that Versar once provided but stripped. Versar doesn't treat their employees correctly. It's no wonder they've gone through people like tissues at all levels.

Pros

Benefits are decent Coworkers are professional

Cons

Really cut throat management. The CFO doesn't have any friends and wont think twice about firing with no notice. There are several managers who talk to subordinates very unprofessionally and downright insulting. Financial auditors are there every few weeks so that cant be good.
