Thanks for your feedback. Our office (and distribution centres) are cleaned regularly throughout the week to reduce the risk of pests and to ensure a comfortable and tidy environment for our employees. To further prevent any issues in future, we have recently instigated a "no food at desks" policy and are encouraging our colleagues to take their breaks and eat in our Southside Restaurant onsite. This has the dual benefit of making sure people take a break from their screens and enjoy some time away from their desks during the working day. We have an exit interview process that allows for all employees both to complete a survey on their experience of the organisation and to have a face to face meeting with HR before their departure date (the employee chooses whether they wish to take up this option or not). I can see you left the organisation, but would welcome more detail on your concerns if you would like to reach out to me directly either in writing or by telephone to the central business number.

Pros

The team mostly all work together well. There are lots of opportunities to improve processes and further develop your career. Viking is extremely focussed on customers and enhancing their services. Overall a great place to work with a promising future.

Cons

There is very little focus on people and engagement. It feels like you are disposable at times. There have been no pay rises for many years despite increasing inflation. There is also very little in terms of recognition and reward. Viking seems to be micromanaged from afar which can be frustrating.

Thank-you for taking the time to provide such a comprehensive review. We continue to benchmark what we offer to our employees against industry and local standards in the areas/ countries where we operate (every year across Europe including the UKIE region). This involves reviewing salaries, each element of our full benefits package and hybrid and flexible working opportunities we offer or could offer in the future. As you may have been aware, during the week of your review, we launched a new leadership development programme for our current and future leaders. We will also be re-launching some of our talent development activities this year (2024). Watch this space! While we are an Investors In People silver accredited organisation as voted for by our colleagues, we can't always get it right for everyone. We would welcome your direct feedback, so please feel free to contact me or a member of our HR team in Leicester to share your own experience and insights. Alternatively, please speak to your local Works Council Representative to submit any further feedback you have for the management anonymously if you would prefer.

Thanks for your review. 2021 was a time of change for our organisation and a lot has changed in the last couple of years. We have expanded our customer service offering in the UK, moved our colleagues in the north to new offices, and no longer use third parties for our customer service provision. As a result there are great development opportunities within our customer service environment and our customers are showing a greater level of satisfaction through interacting with our direct employees in the first instance.
