High rate of turnover, massive layoffs

Pros

Lots of snacks I guess.

Cons

This company manages money poorly. They don’t plan ahead. They toot their own horn about how fast the company is growing, throw money around on superfluous things like nerf guns and then lay off employees due to the budget. The turnover rate for employees is astonishing. They want to seem “young and hip” and have a laid back culture, but it is clear they have no idea what they are doing.

Pros

Casual. fun work environment. Open concept floor plan. We had office potlucks and activities outside of the office. Unlimited time off. Competitive salary.

Cons

The CEO doesn't understand certain jobs and acts baffled by what they do. I found implementation of weekly productivity reports condescending, like he assumed my department wasn't doing anything. You can tell the focus is acquisition, which is fine but doesn't make you feel like you have a sense of job security. No room for growth. People select whatever job title they want whenever they want it. My manager was so inefficient, I was told his title was essentially for show. When I worked here, there was no way of tracking my time off requests and I was made to feel bad about taking PTO even though it was supposed to be unlimited. I personally wouldn't recommend working here to anyone I know, it's too unstable for me.
