Pros

This company looks good in paper but when you get to know the management is a complete mess.

Cons

The management in this company is rotten. This company doesn't promote growth and the pay is below market rate. The inability to retain talented and hard working individuals truly reflects poorly on the company. Good luck trying to get a hold of one of the managers. The end of the year bonus and benefits are a joke. Do not waste your time with this company, there are other companies in town that will treat you better.

Pros

The building is very nice.

Cons

Literally everything else; management is known to wine and dine unsuspecting and relatively inexperienced talent from all over the country only to feed them stories about how great the culture at Waldrop is. Truthfully, they do this constantly because they don’t have to pay young talent as much as more experienced personnel. The landscape architect turnover rate is horrendous, likely due to the emotional and verbal abuse they are persistently subjected to, this also the most diverse department (bonus?) because no local landscape architects are willing to work here due to the reputation the department has. The engineering department is run like your typical frat house. The benefits and Christmas bonuses are a joke (unless you’re one of the company’s two experienced engineers) and good luck if you’re a woman. You’ll be treated like a secretary regardless of position or seniority, an example set by some of the more seasoned women in the office. I wrote this review in hopes that others would find it useful before making a cross-country journey to work at this beautifully decorated sweatshop. There are plenty of similar firms in the area that are willing to treat you better.

A Place To Grow

Pros

I joined Waldrop Engineering eight years ago looking for an opportunity to grow my professional skill set and work with some of the best in the industry. I have been continually given new responsibility and one on one mentoring with the company leadership which has helped me get to where I am today. I am grateful to be in a workplace where people push me to be the best I can be and truly invest in my development. This is a great work environment for people that want to thrive and push themselves. The company is also generous with salary, benefits and flexibility in terms of schedule.

Cons

I don't have any cons on Waldrop.
