Pros

Great location Knowledgeable, friendly and hardworking colleagues Good working hours (4:30 Friday finish) Good opportunity to get in the door within the industry

Cons

Salary – Terrible! Many staff are underpaid and hard work not recognised. There isn’t a clear process for salary reviews, and when they do happen often rejected or delayed Lack of transparency and direction – CEO boast about financial capabilities but hides away from salary and bonus conversations. No clarity and minimal opportunities for career progression. Ridiculous “updates” on tech and resources to help do our jobs. Been waiting over 18 months for the new platform and nonexistent AI technology. Marketing is used as a distraction for the lack of progress and innovation of the company. A spying culture where staff are monitored beyond normal practices and micro managed to the point of depression and anxiety. Claim to care about staff well-being but actively work against this! Passive aggressive management and poor leadership – refusing to acknowledge this will leave you with no staff – there is only so much we can tolerate. Employee benefits comes with a price tag (what’s the point) Does not give you the edge – or much of anything else…

Abusive and Terrible Place To Work

Pros

The location of the office is very central and easy to travel to from all parts of London. The staff, other than management, are very nice and friendly which is surprising as they get treated terribly by their line managers and management team.

Cons

Where do I begin? They have removed the fun, successful culture Webgains once had. We used to work hard and play hard together as a company but it is now work harder and harder with no reward. More than 20 people have left the company and I imagine more will leave, since Richard Dennys and Gary Fletcher have joined. If you want to be treated like a number in a place that doesn't care about you, Webgains is for you!

Pros

Webgains has a great atmosphere with lots of friendly people. There are drinks every Friday at 4:30pm and relaxed working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm for the rest of the week. Webgains has recently rebranded and moved to a new London office which looks great. It is also a good learning environment for new starters.

Cons

Staff are not treated well at all by senior management. There is next to no communication on company performance (which is directly tied to employee bonus) or individual progression. Whilst the company's rebranding looks great, it is simply dressing to distract from a lack of technological development. Promises have been made to produce AI technology and a new platform, but a lack of progress and innovation has been hidden behind a new logo. Opportunities for career progression are severely limited, with a convoluted team system which holds team members back. Salaries are also not competitive compared to competitor networks and pay rises and personal reviews are often rejected. Many of the issues and requests for more communication have been raised with senior management on several occasions but they have never been addressed. They are too focused on the opinion of competitors on social media sites rather than the morale of the internal teams.
