The Worst Mistake

Pros

Macbooks are provided for you that you lug around the office Exposure to healthy products

Cons

Literally the worst company I have ever worked for. This is such a joke of a company and I regret ever stepping foot. The company is CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. Everything they do is so questionable, they don't care about the customers and they will try to do everything as a total hack job. None of the campaigns they've launched have been successful or well-executed. One time they compared themselves to Canadian amazon...except most people have never heard of Well.ca

Good Business Model in the Wrong Hands; Steer Clear

Pros

-Many coworkers in Toronto and especially Guelph are supportive, collaborative workers who truly believe in this company and want to help you with your job -Pay is decent -Some managers flexible with work from home schedules -Given a macbook when you join, gives flexibility to work around the office and elsewhere -Fills a niche for Canadians that is underserved

Cons

-No onboarding -No HR rep in the Toronto office -the website that this primarily online retailer sells through is based on legacy technology created by the founder that is barely support and held together by bandaids -Other technology used in the office such as conference call phones, etc. is laughable -Benefits are poor -Promises made about a job when joining should be taken with a grain of salt -Only a collaborative environment if you agree with management -Marketing efforts are sadly outdated -Cliques are encouraged, especially surrounding executives -Executives view the company as their personal playground, and more is made of serving egos than customers' needs -'Green' customers who are the most loyal are mocked and wellness is not made a priority -No opportunity for career advancement as upper management are entrenched and most people view this as a stepping stone to better jobs. If you do get a job there, I'd advise the same. Most stay about a year to get the line on the resume.

Thank you for the feedback. As you mentioned, Well.ca is a fast growing, fast paced company, and we are always looking to get better. We want to hear from our employees. We are sorry that it did not work out. We care deeply about our employees and our customers. Both are at the heart of everything we do. Technology is something that we are always looking to enhance as almost all companies are. We understand the pace of technological change can sometimes be frustrating to employees. With the pace at which we are growing there are some inevitable pain points. We are continuing to invest in things like improved on boarding of employees and appreciate your feedback. Thank you again for your review and please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to talk further. Kind regards, Rebecca McKillican CEO, Well.ca
