Pros

- The people are great and the pay is decent. Note: The company solicits reviews from employees so do not believe everything you read on here. The culture also dramatically varies across office locations, so pay close attention to the location that you are looking at.

Cons

- Work life balance is horrible, employees frequently work long hours and are expected to drop important plans last minute. - Management does not respect employees - Employees, especially women, are frequently spoken to in a way that is not appropriate in any environment, especially at work. Lewd, demeaning, and derogatory comments are frequent and unwelcome and unfortunately occur with no assistance from HR. - Management does not coach employees or help them develop their skills, several employees have been fired but received little to no coaching to even attempt to help them be more successful in their role. - It's been said before but employees are constantly walking on eggshells. Job security is not a reality at Wodify. - Growth opportunities are scarce or non-existent. - Mistakes are tracked and feedback is scarce - The company says they encourage learning from failures but employees that fail even once are heavily criticized and frequently leave the company shortly after.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review, we really appreciate the candid feedback. We want to continue progressing and growing as a company and we are grateful to hear about your experience. We’re really sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience at Wodify. Our goal is to be very transparent from the hiring process, it seems like there were some misaligned expectations, and we’ll certainly take this into consideration for the benefit of our employees. We are really proud of the team that we have and we do tend to pay above market rates. We have two awesome offices, one in Portugal and one in the US, naturally, there can be some cultural differences between offices in two different countries. We make every effort possible to align our offices with a common mission and values. In regards to soliciting reviews, Glassdoor encourages employers to request reviews from their employees. It is common practice, see for yourself on Glassdoor's blog! As we transition from a small startup to a mid-sized company, there are times when hard work and putting in extra time comes with the job. Wodify values hard, smart work and great performance. We believe it’s really important for the success of the organization! I’m really sorry to hear you didn’t feel respected. We do not ever want you to feel unsafe or unwelcomed at Wodify. We take this type of complaint seriously and we would hope you do reach out to alert our team about any instances of inappropriate behavior. Earlier this year we implemented bi-weekly check-ins between managers and employees to encourage feedback and coaching. If you require an inordinate amount of coaching and feedback, this type of environment may not be for you. Employees who perform well have had and can have growth opportunities within the organization, as we have many examples of this in the company. We are a smaller sized company so there isn’t a big corporate ladder to climb, which again, we are transparent about in the hiring process. Our hope is to continue to improve our internal structure so that there is a clear career path for everyone, we hear you loud and clear and we realize employee growth is key to our continued success. Nevertheless, we are always happy to listen to any suggestions or feedback provided by employees. We use a tool for employees to provide anonymous feedback, so employees feel comfortable expressing any concerns they have. We want to welcome you to open a discussion with us in regards to your feedback, please feel free to reach out to us.

Run for your life, the CEO will make your life miserable

Pros

Great salary, cool office, great benefits. People who don't report to the CEO are very pleasant, talented people to work with.

Cons

The CEO will make your life at wodify a living hell. He likes to fire people on a whim, verbally goes off on people without warning, and worst of all he has unclear and changing expectations of everything from project goals to when people return from vacations. I have seen people fired for not returning mid-vacation for something that was far from an emergency, just to give you an example. If you don't trust my single review, I get it - read the previous reviews while ignoring the short, glowing reviews of the company with very little specifics all written with a day of each other. The CEO has demanded these fake reviews periodically from employees to artificially boost their numbers ... do your due diligence before joining this company and read through some of them.

What nightmares are made of

Pros

Free beer/wine/snacks. Casual work attire that could sometimes be mistaken for pajamas. Decent colleagues at the entry/associate level

Cons

If you're not best buds with the CEO, you are expendable regardless the amount of value you may bring to the organization. This company lacks any true direction and will turn its back on the hardest-working employees at the drop of a pin (this happened a couple times while I was there). Some employees act like they operate in the Wild West, making up their own rules and circumventing their own management if they don't get their way. Tough luck if you're not a "favorite" of the C-Level team, as they'll just dismiss you as difficult to deal with even if you bring up good ideas and valid concerns. The business never learns from their mistakes, especially around product development and product releases. On a handful of occasions, product/engineering would make a mistake during a roll-out and management would expect support and sales staff to work over the weekend to fix it. I'm all about chipping in, but this is something that would happen multiple times for the SAME reason. They try to paint a picture of how scrappy and entrepreneurial they are. It's all lip service and a "cooler" way to say they don't have any clue what they're doing and could be forced to fire half the staff in a week's notice. The workplace culture is TOXIC even though the org claims they've done so much work to improve it. They may have tried but certainly nothing stuck. There are a couple people there that aren't going anywhere anytime soon that will practically ensure Wodify will remain a quick cup of coffee along the journey of a talented individual's career path.
