Great concepts, but no follow through, and sugar coated benefits

Pros

Honestly, it's extremely hard to think of any. Your typical 9-5 with holidays off, sometimes getting to leave an hour early on 3 day weekends, food catered here and there... but other than that... no other benefits come to mind. If you want to feel like you are in prison this is the place for you:)

Cons

If you are a favorite, senior employee, and honestly not else sure what you have to do to be a favorite at Zander...but if you are not a favorite or you have not been there cor 10+ years, you will be treated as if you are a kindergartener. Zander offer work from home, usually starting off every day in the office, and then a hybrid of two days in the office after 60 days. However, if you are someone special, again not sure what was needed to be achieved in order to accomplish favortism in the environment, but a select few only had to come in the office once a week, and even some maybe once a month, and others never had to be in the office, unless their was a once a year company wide meeting. There were even employees who were given the privilege of living in a different state... and working 100 percent from home. Meanwhile, others who are performing and completing the same workload just as competent were required to be in the office once or twice a week. The benefits sound amazing, until you actually go to use them. Everything at this company sounds amazing until you are actually in it. I was expected to give exceptional customer service to my clients, to which i took extreme pride in, yet was also required to meet impossible numbers each day, and if I didn't my pay was taken from me. I would be expected to learn new things, take on additional responsibilities, yet no leeway was ever given to me in these instances. I was micromanaged to the point where it was almost harassment. Every hour on the hour I would receive a message from my teamlead who would go through my deleted voicemaile or would send reminders about discussions we had 1-2 days prior several times after the discussion, even if the issue was corrected. I feel I worked extremely hard, and spoke to each client as if they were my own family, and yet I was constantly criticized or given a "warning" for something. If there wasn't anything I guarantee you that something would be found to criticize me about. I would work excessive amounts of overtime to help out our team, and to get caught up when we stayed behind, but none of that was ever acknowledged, EVER. I felt as if nothing I did was ever good enough, yet my coworkers and my clients that I spoke with would have given a complete opposite representation of me. My advice...if you are a suck up and you are willing to lose your dignity catering to every impossible demand from your teamlead or upper management this is the job for you. If you like to be appreciated for your hard work, acknowledged for your work ethic, communication skills, loyalty, and dedication to your team or job...this is not the place for you...you will burn out quicker than applied for any position.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your time at Zander. We appreciate your input, though we are disheartened to learn that working at Zander did not meet your expectations. Please allow us to address some of the key points made in your review. Your comments regarding favoritism and inconsistencies in remote work arrangements are concerning, and we would like to clarify that Zander is committed to providing equal opportunities to all our employees, regardless of their tenure or personal relationships. While we cannot speak to specific accommodations that have been made for employees in the past, we can say that overall work performance is a contributing factor in one’s ability to work from home. Regarding expectations and micromanagement, we apologize if you felt unsupported in your role. We encourage open communication with team leads and members of the executive team, to include HR, to address concerns and find a balance between the company’s expectations and your ability to deliver exceptional customer service. Zander Insurance actively strives to foster an inclusive and supportive workplace. We acknowledge the importance of recognizing and appreciating our hardworking team members, and we genuinely regret that you felt your experience at Zander resembled a prison-like environment. This is far from our intended workplace culture, and we will continue to make strides to create a positive atmosphere for all employees.

Please know that this does not align with the standards of respect and support that we aim to foster within our organization. Your words are a catalyst for change, and we are committed to promptly addressing the issues you have raised. As an employee-owned company with 49% ownership by our dedicated team members, the input as owners of the company is valuable and we highly encourage all employees to share their concerns and ideas to ensure a positive and nurturing workplace culture. Pros

they seem as if they care for their employees with ESOP and events

Cons

If you begin to question things, you put a target on yourself. If you are too successful too fast, they question your consistency behind your back. The Management is extremely as a severe lack of consistency and doesn't seem to have an equal amount of information. They put new people with no insurance background as supervisors of experienced seasoned agents. now you have supervisors who don't know how to lead, but also can't seem to understand insurance.
