      Pros

      Some good people on the ground.

      Cons

      Top heavy org structure, lots of ‘execs’ that come and go with no notice. Ineffectual leadership of UK payroll department, dept head takes little to do with staff. Unpaid overtime. Attitude that work should be done no matter how many additional (free) hours you need to do it, management don’t care. Workloads are too high, everyone over resourced so no available cover if anyone goes off sick/on holiday/leaves.

We recognise that people are our greatest asset, so it is important that we keep engaged with the positives and the negatives that people experience with us. While company growth is positive for all of us, we appreciate that this can also bring new challenges which we are working hard to support everyone with. We are always keen to hear any feedback that our colleagues have either through our regular employee surveys, or via team channels to identify potentials solutions and areas where we can improve this.

      Cannot find any pros to put in.

      Cons

      Long hours, lack of training, lack of management. No structure. Plenty of changes that are insignificant and just take space. The most unprofessional work place i ever experienced.

      While obviously this is never the kind of feedback we'd want to hear, we appreciate that sometimes people can feel frustration during periods of high paced growth. While we are working hard to mitigate that, we are always open to hear suggestions and feedback from our teams on how we can best support through our employee surveys, roadshows and employee forums. Thank you for being so candid, its a good opportunity for us to reflect on things we can continue to improve.

      Fast paced, challenging and transformative

      Pros

      Activpayroll is truly an exciting place to work. The growth the business is seeing is phenomenal and this creates an abundance of opportunities. The management are agile and never stop adapting and trying to make the business better and work smarter. It feels like everyday a difference can be made. Literally something can be suggested to make an improvement on a Monday and action can be taken within 24 hours. Unlike big corporations. Management are very inclusive and encourage discussion. Good changes around technology have been made. More still needs to be done.

      Cons

      The colleagues who experienced the previous owners are often of a different mindset. They aren’t as well suited for the fast past nature and high expectations. This can create a bit of divide between “them and us”. These individuals can often be very negative, entitled and creates a culture of moaning without being proactive to find solutions. Work load is very demanding. Technology to do the job can be frustratingly slow at times.

We know we still have work to do, as to your point some may still have their reservations, but we're really respectful of the fantastic company that was here before us while working hard to keep up the positive momentum.
