It's just another dead end minimum wage job, but with physical labor.
Pros
- You won't be asked to work weekends or nights. - Coworkers are amazing. You'll hear people say "I'd quit but I'd miss everyone too much" A LOT. - Most clients are honestly super nice and pleasant to work with. - Tips are rare but can be REALLY good some days, especially during holidays.
Cons
- NO benefits, and even as the company grows it doesn't look like they're interested in giving benefits either. - Bad pay. 15.50 per hour, EXCEPT you only get 13.50 when you're driving between houses, making paychecks short of Oregon minimum wage. Sometimes the drive time can equal up to 2 hours a day because of managements planning. - You'll be expected to go into hazardous homes (like hoarders, think feces and urine and multiple animals and rotting food everywhere,) but they won't tell you that in the interview. And if you complain, they'll say that's expected of you when we're just housecleaners, NOT biohazard cleaners, in the middle of a pandemic. I've gotten sick from filthy houses many times. - They don't take care of the equipment, making your job harder. Some days you'll get into the office to load your car and there won't even be supplies for your jobs, you just have to wait, which pushes your jobs back, which makes clients unhappy, which reflects badly on you. - Somedays you get off at 2pm, somedays you get off at 6pm. If you need a scheduled end time or just don't like having an unpredictable day, it's not for you.
