Pros

Nice office to work in.

Cons

Worst company I have ever worked for, highest turnover of staff for such an average sized company - lost 8 members of staff since Christmas including their whole development department and Web Designer. Everyone is worked over and above their limit for next to no money. The company is beyond help they have no clue how to run the place properly and choose to ignore any criticism. The "management" have no skills and try to dictate the tiniest bit of authority over the people they dont't like just to make themselves feel better. Bullying is common in the office of fatbuzz, if they don't like you they have the ability to reduce staff to tears. Management have even been caught on a group chat talking about staff members. The male members of management are sexist and enjoy a pretty face as they feel that will get them more clients, which they have used to get clients in the past. They have lost marketing clients left right and center as they have no clue how to properly manage their clients if you are a bigger name or paying more money then you come above everyone else and if you don;t ask you don't get no matter how much you are paying. They have too many clients for the staff that they have and have promised clients dedicated staff members to get the job only to then not follow through and the clinet has no clue otherwise. Web development department consists of two developers to manage over 200 websites and website support. The company could fold at any time, its potless they have to beg their clients at the end of every month to pay their invoices just so they can pay salaries to staff. They have even been begging agencies aroung Glasgow to buy the company as even the management know it's time to get out. Although no one in Glasgow is stupid enough to buy a worthless company. Take my advice and don't work here even if they offered you all the money in the world (which they wouldnt as they are cheap and minimum wage will do just fine) its not worth the stress and drama that comes with the company. It has a shiny new office and they show off on social media but its just all a big cover up to what really goes on behind closed doors

Pros

For the most part there are genuinely good, young, knowledgeable, hard-working people at fatbuzz. Large variety of clients so you will gain experience working across a variety of sectors.

Cons

The management culture is atrocious at fatbuzz. You will get thrown in the deep end from the beginning, with literally no onboarding process and expected to produce results. You will receive little to no support for client work and be blamed for poor outcomes. No career progression unless the family favours you. Senior Management is horrendous. The Managing Director is the antithesis of what a business leader should be and fatbuzz's reputation across the marketing industry in Glasgow reflects his leadership. FYI their reputation is very poor. Very few employee benefits, they do little to nothing to make their staff feel valued. No flexible working as they don't trust you to work unsupervised. They have a half day on a Friday but that's really to keep their overall costs low. Their office is falling apart and a hazard to employees. Nepotism, Sectarianism, blame culture, and bullying are all features at fatbuzz. They are constantly hiring new staff as the business is a revolving door. I'm only writing this as a warning to anyone remotely interested in joining fatbuzz. There are far better opportunities elsewhere in which you will like a valued employee... you won't get that at this business.

Don't work here

Pros

They ask employees to write positive reviews for them and push until they see a few show up. No one is writing fatbuzz a positive review just because they love it so much. No pros from me other than getting a paycheck which is really the bare minimum compensation you deserve for working here.

Cons

If you're thinking of working here, don't. Run for the hills. Unless you're in an absolutely dire emergency and need the income. But even then I'd advise against taking a job here. You'll likely be looking again within 6 to 8 months. This company is like a revolving door. Talent comes in and immediately leaves. There's been an absurdly high staff turnover in recent years which should be your first major red flag. The fact that they also have a pretty low pay scale compared to industry rate, offer the absolute bare minimum for benefits, and a have very flat structure with minimal opportunity for development should be your second red flag. But the biggest red flags are, unfortunately, ones you won't discover until you actually work here. I've had the misfortune of being an employee and found out what they are so that you don't have to. Here's just a few of the things that caused me to leave and try to warn anyone else off of working here: 1. Nepotism 2. Gaslighting 3. Disorganisation 4. Bullying 5. Lying 6. Endangerment of staff 7. Bad pay 8. Minimal benefits 9. Zero flexibility 10. No compassion from management 11. Constant staff turnover 12. No hybrid working because they don't trust you 13. Terrible office space. I hope you like eating at your desk and not seeing daylight for 8 hours a day. 14. Limited career development This list is non-exhaustive. fatbuzz is the worst. They treat you like you're lucky to work for them and like your whole life should revolve around your employment. There's no understanding that you're a human being outside of job and no flexibility for staff who are having a tough time personally. Management will tell you they care. They'll say that your safety and happiness is a top priority for them but then every action they take will show you the opposite. And if you do have an issue, don't bother going to their outsourced HR company because HR Services Scotland is one of fatbuzz's clients and is in the pocket of management. It's a totally inappropriate relationship and an HR company should know that. Do not recommend working here. Would rather be unemployed.
