With America's 250th anniversary coming up, we are looking back at America's bold step forward to create a new nation. Today, the Declaration of Independence remains a key document in our founding principles, including a constitutionally limited government. Check out how Americans for Prosperity uses the Declaration of Independence as a framework for limited government.

The LIBRE Initiative is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with the kickoff of “One Small Step” — a seven-figure campaign to educate, inspire, and mobilize Latinos to protect America’s founding principles of freedom. As part of this campaign, LIBRE is unveiling a new video featuring LIBRE Founding President Daniel Garza. Not only does this video spotlight centuries of Latino contributions in the great American experiment, but it also demonstrates a forward-looking vision about what’s possible because of the principles of human progress. Building on the success of its “Quiero ser LIBRE” brand campaign, One Small Step invites Latinos to take action through LIBRE and partner organizations such as The LIBRE Institute, Americans for Prosperity, and Concerned Veterans for America. This initiative will include events, civics classes, media outreach, and more leading up to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
AFP’s Protect Prosperity Campaign Achieves Major Legislative Win with Passage of Tax Cut Package We’re pleased to share a significant policy victory for Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and our broader movement: the extension of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) has officially passed Congress and been signed into law by the president. This milestone follows months of deliberation in both the House and Senate and represents a major success for AFP’s Protect Prosperity campaign — a core initiative focused on preventing tax increases and securing long-term economic opportunity for all Americans. In a press release issued on July 4, AFP CEO Emily Seidel praised the work of the grassroots team: “Getting this bill across the finish line showcased the true power of the grassroots, who — since January — kept up the pressure on their lawmakers to do the right thing. We can’t forget their herculean efforts. Together, we reached out to over a million voters. From making hundreds of thousands of phone calls to policymakers, to attending hundreds of grassroots events, and knocking on hundreds of thousands of doors, our activists made sure that lawmakers knew how important it is that we protect prosperity and turn the corner on the disastrous economic policies of the previous administration.”
AFP Applauds House Passage of Pro-Growth Tax Bill On May 22, the U.S. House passed H.R. 1, the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” Act—legislation that makes the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent, boosts American energy, and strengthens border security. Americans for Prosperity has been a strong advocate for the bill throughout its journey. Brent Gardner, AFP’s Chief Government Affairs Officer, praised House leadership for advancing a bill that reflects the priorities of millions of Americans. AFP President & CEO Emily Seidel highlighted the critical role of grassroots activists in driving momentum—through calls, letters, events, and door knocking. As the bill moves to the Senate, AFP will continue mobilizing its grassroots network to ensure lawmakers stay bold and unified in delivering lasting tax relief and economic opportunity. This is grassroots power in action—and a reminder that when policy and people align, real change is possible.
Building on the momentum of our February event with House Speaker Mike Johnson, Americans for Prosperity recently hosted another marquee event at the Freedom Embassy in Washington, D.C. This time, Fox News contributor and Townhall.com editor Katie Pavlich sat down with GOP Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain to discuss how House Republicans plan to address reconciliation language. AFP CEO Emily Seidel opened the event with remarks on the urgent need for principled policy solutions. Across the country, AFP is ramping up efforts to challenge the status quo—pushing back on burdensome regulations, wasteful spending, and inflation-driving policies that are holding back Americans’ potential. Through national events, direct engagement with lawmakers, grassroots mobilization, and strategic media efforts, we’re shaping the conversation and driving real change.
A powerful episode of the Going Big! podcast with our CEO, Emily Seidel, and Kevin Gentry! Emily shared how her early career on Capitol Hill taught her a lasting truth: politics isn’t controlled by immovable forces—it’s shaped by individuals who step up and take action. At AFP, our mission is to amplify your voice and drive meaningful change to reignite the American Dream. One of the biggest challenges ahead? The expiration of the 2017 tax cuts in 2026. These cuts helped millions of families thrive, but if they’re not extended, Americans could face tax hikes of up to $3,500 a year—at a time when many are already burdened by rising costs. In the podcast, Emily and Kevin dive into what’s at stake and how citizen-led action can shift public opinion and influence real policy change. The stakes are too high for inaction. AFP’s grassroots network is built to turn bold ideas into action—and we’re just getting started.
Inauguration Day 2025: A New Chapter for Policy Progress January 20 marks Inauguration Day, which brings with it both a new administration and renewed opportunities to promote our community’s vision on many issues, including The Economy, Foreign Policy, and Constitutionally Limited Government. Many of our priority issues that were top of mind for voters this past fall are on the table and within reach as we enter this new Congress. At the federal level, our colleagues at Americans for Prosperity, Concerned Veterans for America, and LIBRE are preparing to make strides in several key areas, including: Taxes, Spending, and Budget Reform: Last week, AFP launched “Protect Prosperity,” a $20 million nationwide grassroots campaign calling on Congress to protect prosperity and renew President Trump’s highly successful Tax Cuts and Jobs Act – a measure AFP activists were instrumental in passing back in 2017 and a cornerstone of AFP and the Trump administration’s shared legislative agenda this year. If Congress fails to renew the TCJA, millions of Americans will have to pay an extra $1,500 or more in taxes next year. Other areas include: Curbing the Administrative State Immigration Foreign Policy As new opportunities arise, AFP remains committed to standing for policies that advance freedom and opportunity. Stay tuned to see how AFP continues to advance our principles alongside the new Congress and new administration.
