As everyone gears up to complete their annual performance reviews, "The Coaching Mindset," was the perfect topic for Amplity's final Leadership Forum of 2025. Chief People Officer, Erica Smith, led a great discussion on what it takes to be an effective coach. By sharing real life stories of coaching successes and challenges, we explored how leaders can empower their teams—and even took time to practice. Here are our 5 key takeaways for adopting a best-in-class coaching mindset: 1. Coaching isn’t just a scheduled event—it’s a mindset woven into everyday interactions. 2. The most impactful coaching happens when leaders stay curious, ask thoughtful questions, and create space for colleagues to discover their own solutions. 3. Trust, empathy, and purposeful guidance are at the heart of great coaching. 4. Self-discovery is powerful—when people find their own answers, confidence and growth follow. 5.
