Chick-fil-A is now open at Applegreen Lisburn South. The new restaurant is located at our Lisburn South motorway service area on the M1, close to Belfast. Our new partnership with Chick-fil-A in Northern Ireland also includes a second restaurant at Templepatrick on the M2 opening in March. Chick-fil-A, which is known for its famous chicken sandwich, has more than 3,000 restaurants in the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Having successfully operated Chick-fil-A restaurants in the United States for several years, we know how much our customers love their high-quality food, and we’re excited to introduce this brand to a new audience. The partnership with Chick-fil-A Restaurants is bringing 70 new jobs, increasing our overall employment number in Northern Ireland to more than 350. A big thank you to our amazing colleagues who worked tirelessly to bring this fantastic new brand to our customers in Northern Ireland. To bring our final charity event of 2020 to close, we went out with a bang raising an amazing €43,000 for Enable Ireland. Thanks to the generosity and support of our colleagues, customers and communities we can continue making a real difference by raising funds for our charity partners. Enable Ireland provides vital services to children and adults with disabilities and their families from over 40 locations in 15 counties across Ireland. Covering childhood to adulthood their expert teams work with the individual and their family on a plan for each life stage.
Applegreen PLC is proud to announce that its charitable fund has donated more than €4 Million euro since its establishment in 2009. The charity sector has been put under unprecedented strain as a result of Covid-19. As the country navigates its way to the new normal, we continue to pledge our support to our charity partners in these challenging times. We’re immensely proud of raising such a significant amount of money, it allows Applegreen to make a real difference to many people’s lives and support all the great work being achieved by our charity partners.
