"Atrium Health offered outpatient infusion roles to new graduate nurses," she explains. "I found the clinic setting during nursing school particularly rewarding and sought the chance to delve into infusion immediately after graduation." After such a positive experience during her nursing school clinical rotations, Caitlyn participated in Atrium Health's nurturing transition-to-practice program and has begun to grow her inspiring career as an RN at Atrium Health.
The Call to Nursing: It’s More than a Job Claire felt a distinct calling to cancer care and recognized Atrium Health as the ideal starting point for her career. "I was drawn to oncological nursing, and Atrium Health Levine Cancer's reputation for top-tier specialists and facilities made it the obvious choice," she explains. Currently, Claire focuses on hematology/oncology multiple myeloma care at Atrium Health Levine Cancer and is inspired daily to make a broader impact on her surrounding community.

The Call to Nursing: It’s More than a Job As a child, Montana was inspired by her pediatrician, which ignited her interest in the medical field. However, Montana's path to nursing school unfolded over time after trying out several different fields within healthcare. "I attended Montana State University, but it took some exploration—changing my major five times—before I finally settled on nursing," she recalls.
The Call to Nursing: It’s More than a Job Driven by a desire to positively influence lives, Maryellen found her passion as an infusion nurse at Levine Cancer. Being part of the Atrium Health Levine Cancer team is more than just a job to her; it's a calling to serve others with compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment. "I've long admired the compassionate care of nurses I encountered in my own health care journey," Maryellen says.
The Call to Nursing: It’s More than a Job Having experienced patient/family challenges firsthand, Candi was inspired to pursue nursing after losing her mother to cancer. Now stationed at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute Breast Cancer Care, Candi tends to patients across all phases of their treatment experience. "It's incredibly fulfilling to forge connections with my patients," Candi expresses. "They rely on us for understanding and guidance throughout their cancer journey. I feel privileged to accompany them through one of life's most arduous battles."
