Yesterday marked a very special day as our Chairman and third generation of the Beaverbrooks family, Mark Adlestone OBE DL, celebrates his incredible milestone achievement of 45 years at Beaverbrooks. Throughout this time, Mark has continually shown his passion, leadership & commitment to our company & our people, & is a constant inspiration to everyone who comes into contact with him. He has worked tirelessly to create, grow & sustain a business that is loved & appreciated by all who come into contact with it. Our people, our suppliers, the charities and communities that we support are grateful to him & his endless passion, energy & determination to enrich lives every day. "I remember meeting Mark for the first time in 1997 when I joined Beaverbrooks as a graduate trainee at our Manchester Trafford Centre store. Mark told me that if I worked hard and got good results, I would go far at Beaverbrooks. Little did either of us know that 15 years later, he would ask me to become the first female and non-family CEO of Beaverbrooks and that we would go on to create a formidable and enjoyable partnership; one which I treasure and am immensely proud of" Anna Blackburn, MD. Mark's countless accolades are a testament to his incredible career. To name a few; in 2015 Mark was awarded an OBE for his services to business & charity in the North of England & has been named as The Sunday Times Best Leader six times. We’re pleased to start 2024 with a bang as we cut the ribbon at our refurbished Leeds store on Commercial Street on Saturday 13th January, following a £1.5m investment. This latest unveiling follows the development of two further stores across the Yorkshire region last year, with our York and Leeds White Rose Centre locations seeing significant investment. As a diamond retailer with a rich heritage and history, shoppers looking for extra special purchases can consult with our instore experts in our specialist diamond areas. The first of our stores to be set across two floors, this includes our luxurious, new dedicated diamonds and weddings area on the upper floor designed for intimate consultations with our experts for buying wedding and engagement rings. The new diamond and weddings destination in Leeds, customers can choose from a wide range of hand-selected, high-quality pieces, including our ‘Starlit’ collection, a uniquely designed 15-piece collection representing the stars that light the universe. With 22 store projects and refits planned for the year, we are proud to continue safeguarding the future of Beaverbrooks and investing in the high streets, shopping centres, retail parks and our portfolio across the UK in 2024. One of the charities that the Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust proudly supports each year is the NSPCC’s Childline service. This year we’ve funded ‘One Unforgettable Day’ so our Beaverbrooks family has enabled the Childline services to operate for a whole day across the entire UK. In the coming weeks, some of our colleaugues will be visiting 4 of their regional hubs (Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester Salford & Belfast). Pictured here on their first visit to the charity’s Leeds offices, our colleagues found out more about their amazing work. They chatted with the team & met a wonderful lady who has volunteered with the charity for over 20 years. She gave an insight into her role & the difference our support has enabled them to make to countless children. Our team left feeling extremely proud of our involvement & immensely grateful to Childline for being there to share children’s worries, however big or small 💙 childline.org.uk #charitygiving
