On Sunday, riders hopped on their bikes to take part in the annual Beaverbrooks Bike Ride around some of the Fylde Coast’s most scenic countryside, to raise money for Trinity Hospice. For over 30 years Beaverbrooks has been supporting the Bike Ride which has helped raise over £400,000 for Blackpool’s Trinity Hospice. It’s a great event for riders of all abilities with various routes ranging from 15 to 45 miles. At the weekend, over 1,200 runners took part in our annual Beaverbrooks Blackpool 10K Fun Run along the promenade, which has raised over £3m for event organisers Trinity Hospice and Palliative Care Services, as well as several other local charities. A team of Beaverbrooks colleagues completed the run on Sunday 8th May 2022, including Beaverbrooks’ chairman, Mark Adlestone OBE, while a further 40 volunteered on the day. Congratulations to all the runners that took part in this year’s Fun Run and a huge thank you to all the volunteers and event organisers. We're so proud that we have been able to support the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAAC) with a donation of a new critical care vehicle through The Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust. Supporting charities is incredibly important to us as part of our core purpose of enriching lives, which simply means making a positive difference to the world we live in, and we donate 20 per cent of our retained profits to causes close to our hearts. Since the year 2000 we have given in excess of £18.35m to over 750 charities, and even over the course of the pandemic, the business still remained committed to these efforts, donating over £2m during 2021/22. This year marks the 25th year we have supported Heart Research UK's Treasure Your Heart campaign, which allows people to donate their unwanted or broken jewellery to help raise money for lifesaving heart research.
