50 years ago Birds Eye UK & IE cemented its place in advertising history by broadcasting the UK’s first ever colour TV ad – for peas! The ad was given pride of place in the first commercial break of cult British science-fiction television series Thunderbirds and aired on Associated Television (ATV) – a former British television company – in the Midlands region on Saturday 15th November 1969 at approximately 10.05am.
