Summer Party 2022 In July we hosted we hosted the Blick Rothenberg Summer Party in glorious sunshine. This year the theme was most definitely Retro with an “old Skool” Sports Day, an afternoon of Games, Drinks and Barbecue food. There was a range of games and activities for all ages and capabilities (and with varying degrees of competitiveness) from volleyball, rounders, tug-of-war, to a Space Hopper relay, egg and spoon race, croquet, giant Jenga and draughts - to name a few. And those who were not participating in an event cheered on and supported those who were. The medal ceremony lacked national anthems, a podium, or any real idea of who had won what but let’s just say everyone won in their own way! The event team were just thrilled that the First Aid tent remained quiet throughout.
Supporting London’s Air Ambulance Charity 🚁 Recently Blick Rothenberg held its Summer Party, themed as an ‘Old Skool Sports Day’. We were delighted that Cat Hughes, Philanthropy & Partnerships Coordinator at London's Air Ambulance Charity, was able to join us, meet some of our team and talk to CEO Nimesh Shah about the amazing work the charity is doing to support the local community. London Air Ambulance helicopters serve the 10 million people that live work and travel within the M25 and can get an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients in 11 minutes. Cat talked to Nimesh about the charity reaching a critical point to replace their two helicopters by 2024 and their 'Against Time Appeal' to raise the £15 million that is needed. Nimesh said: “I am proud that Blick Rothenberg's people chose London's Air Ambulance Charity as its charity of the year, to give something back the local London community and to support the amazing work of the pilots, doctors and wider team who provide this unbelievable service to help save lives in London.”
Exciting times for our people. We recently launched our new 5th Floor workspace at our Great Queen Street offices. Bringing together our departments and teams under one roof, supporting flexible working and providing an agile, fresh and welcoming modern workspace have all been drivers in creating our new environment. Working in collaboration with our focus groups, particular attention has been made regarding accessibility and sustainability. We’ve repurposed material where possible and have used flooring which is made predominantly of cork recycled from the bottle stopper industry. Primarily a base for our Audit, Assurance & Advisory and UK Outsourcing departments, the new space is also available to anyone in our business as we now operate a hot desk system allowing people to collaborate and work anywhere in the building. But its not all about desks. We’ve also ensured we have great break out areas allowing people to get away from work and enjoy coffee, lunch or some time out in one of our wellness rooms or "focus room" designed to support neurodivergent people.
