Care Creates… Fair Pay, Fair Work, Fair Care. Across Scotland, social care is powered by people, from those just beginning their careers to experienced leaders guiding teams through the most important moments in people’s lives. This week’s Care Creates stories shine a light on the individuals and teams who make care personal, compassionate and meaningful every day. They show how care is created through connection, creativity, recognition and trust. Together, these stories reflect the breadth of Scotland’s social care workforce and the shared commitment to people at the heart of care. Read the stories here: https://tinyurl.com/2h4vs9vk
Vintage Tea Party! Across our services, in collaboration with our charity partner, Royal Voluntary Service, we have been hosting our vintage tea parties. This has been a great way for us to connect with our service users whilst raising funds for a great cause. We successfully kicked this off yesterday with our Inverclyde service who enjoyed a wonderful afternoon. Our service users and staff alike all had a fabulous day whilst taking a moment to connect with one another and raising vital funds for the RVS.
5's for Inverclyde! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our Inverclyde service had their first Care Inspectorate inspection since rebranding from Confident Care. The team has worked tirelessly over the past few months and scored 5's across four key questions! We are so proud of the team, particularly our Service Manager, Lesley, who is ready to celebrate with some Colin cake! 🐛 Well done team!
A fabulous Care Inspectorate score!! 🎈 At a recent Care Inspectorate inspection, our West of Scotland team achieved 5’s across the board for four key questions, and we couldn't be prouder! Our West of Scotland Operations Director, Mark, noted that, "It’s been a real Team effort, and the office staff and carers received some phenomenal feedback which goes to show how good they are and that the service is moving in the right direction. Our Regional Manager, Kirstie, was also instrumental throughout the inspection, she really led from the front and supported the service from start to finish. Massive thanks also to our Governance Team, Carol Perkins and Lorna Easton, for their continued support and direction over the last year." We are so proud of the team for their hard work and dedication. It has truly paid off, and this score is a perfect reflection of that! 🌟
Call-In Homecare has been accredited as a real Living Wage employer. The Living Wage commitment will see all Care Assistants working at Call-In Homecare receive over a minimum hourly wage of £10.02. Call-In Homecare is one of the top Care at Home providers across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Falkirk and Dundee. In Scotland, more than 14% of all jobs pay less than the real Living Wage - around 330,000 jobs. Despite this, Call-In Homecare has committed to pay the real Living Wage and deliver a fair day’s pay for a their Care Assistants’ hard day’s work. Cllr Kate Campbell, Living Wage City Action Group co-chair and Fair Work Convener for the City of Edinburgh Council, said: “It’s encouraging to have a major employer, like Call-in Homecare, take this vital step and commit to its workforce. I hope this will be a catalyst for more in the sector to get accredited, showing the value they place on their staff."
