Meet Julia, one of our Food & Beverage Assistants 💁🍾 Julia joined us on May 1st 2021 through a work placement at Robert Gordon University - where she studied for her degree in International Tourism.Throughout her time here at Loch Fyne, Julia has been trained up on standards of service both in our Cladach Mor Bistro, and behind our Loch View Bar. She has made some friends for life during her time here and is known in the team for being our resident sweet tooth - partial to chocolate in particular! We are delighted that after a while working with us, Julia decided the place had grown on her enough to remain with us indefinitely - finishing university a year early with her degree, and a bright future ahead! 🎓
Congratulations to our Food & Beverage Manager Dean on completion of his Management, Tourism, and Hospitality Talent Development Programme!👨🏽🎓📝 The virtual Leadership, Management and Supervisory training programme was designed to motivate and develop top talent in order to recover faster from the significant impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had across the Tourism and Hospitality sectors in Scotland. The key challenges that we are facing as an industry can only be adequately dealt with by having in place strong leadership and management across all areas of our Industry. The program aimed to utilise future leaders of our industry with the skills, knowledge and networks to make an impact. A big thank you to the The Scottish Government’s National Transition Training Fund and HIT Scotland for both funding and administering the course!

Introducing Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa's Concierge - Alan Smith! After the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world in 2020 - Alan came home to Scotland after his travels and we were delighted to welcome him to the Loch Fyne Team. He has been a vital part of the hotel ever since. Aside from his upbeat and positive demeanour - Alan helps maintain the hotels grounds - keeping everything looking as beautiful as our scenic surroundings. He is also known as being our resident fire starter! The go to man when we look to light our firepits for an atmospheric feel on an evening. Alan is a keen cyclist who enjoys exploring the West Coast and beyond on his days off. He has completed some impressive routes, cycling as far as Dunoon via Loch Eck, The Rest & Be Thankful and Dalmally! The rising cost of fuel will be of little issue to Alan and his trusty bike. He also remains a keen traveller and ventured to the Faroe Islands on his latest holidays! We are lucky to have an asset like Alan on the team, and look forward to supporting his career aspirations.
