Dental Directory has rebranded to ‘DD’ as it unites its full-service offering and further demonstrates its ambition to be a sector disruptor. The evolution from Dental Directory to DD, now one of the leading partners to dental professionals and aesthetics practitioners, comes a year after the appointment of new managing director, Paul Adams. Paul Adams said: “Over the years we’ve grown through acquisition as we strived to deliver a full solution for our customers, but as we grew so did our customers’ confusion about what we offer. We didn’t get it right and not everyone understood that as well as consumables, we also have expertise in equipment and its installation, testing and compliance, decontamination, orthodontics and facial aesthetics, as well as some of the most experienced trainers in the business in the team. “Our rebrand announcement is more than a new look and name - it’s backed by millions of pounds worth of investment to consolidate our whole service offering as we continue to become the provider of choice with an Amazon standard online service. Getting to grips with Legionella We speak to Lucy Foord, practice support manager at DBG, about Legionella and why it’s imperative to understand more about the bacteria and the risk it poses to your patients. Legionella isn’t the sexiest of subjects, I agree, but the more you know about the bacteria and waterline management the easier it will be to manage the risk and protect your patients. It’s believed that Legionella was first discovered in the 1970s in Philadelphia after an outbreak of pneumonia occurred in visitors to a state convention of the American Legion. Subsequently the illness became known as Legionnaires disease. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQqVH

Paul Adams: a man of action We meet Paul Adams at Dental Directory’s headquarters in Essex. Just three months into his tenure things have already begun to change under his leadership and he’s keen to stress there is much more to come. ‘Dental Directory’s not been in business for more than 45 years for nothing. We’re successful and passionate about what we do, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t carry on bettering ourselves. After all, doing what you’ve always done will only deliver the results you’ve always got,’ Paul says. Instead, Paul wants Dental Directory to be innovators, to do things differently and he hints at plans to streamline its position as the only ‘one-stop-shop’ offering in the industry under one brand identity. ‘I want us to be perceived as more than a wholesaler of dental consumables – after all our service line is very much more than that. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQqVy
