🌟 Celebrating over 200 years of compassionate care 🌟 From our humble beginnings in 1812 with George S Munn & Co in Glasgow (who are still trading today), to serving over 800 communities across the UK today, Dignity Funerals has always been dedicated to providing unparalleled expertise and compassionate care. Our rich heritage includes historic funeral businesses like Francis Chappell & Sons in London (est. 1840) and J Rymer Funeral Service in York (est. 1848). In commemoration of Local and Community History Month, we celebrate the history of our very own Dignity community. Together, we honour the legacy of those who came before us and continue to support families with the utmost respect and dignity. #DignityFunerals #Heritage #Compassion #CommunityCare #LocalAndCommunityHistoryMonth #History
At Dignity Funerals, we believe in the power of compassion and community. A special shoutout to A. Shepherd & Sons Funeral Directors, Hull & Cottingham, who are making a difference by taking their welfare dog, Millie, to local care homes and grief support groups. 🐶✨ Millie brings comfort, joy, and a little extra warmth to those experiencing grief and loneliness. Animals can be incredible sources of support, offering companionship and comfort when we need it most.
Easter egg collection triumph! Dignity Funerals is thrilled to share the success of our nationwide Easter egg collection campaign! Thanks to the incredible efforts of our branches and crematoria, and the generosity of our communities, we have gathered thousands of Easter eggs to donate to deserving causes across the country. A special commendation goes to Frazer, one of our outstanding business leaders in Scotland, who spearheaded the collection of an astounding 1300 eggs across his 6 branches! We are immensely grateful to our dedicated teams for their hard work and to everyone who contributed to this initiative. Together, we’ve brought joy and smiles to many this Easter.

Every branch within the Dignity Funerals family is dedicated to creating unique and meaningful tributes, going above and beyond because we believe that every farewell should be as unique and remarkable as the life it celebrates. Recently, the team at Derek Moss Funeral Directors had the privilege of fulfilling a customer's special wish with an Only Fools and Horses-themed hearse. As Del Boy would say, "Lovely jubbly!" 🌟 #DignityFunerals #OnlyFoolsAndHorses #LovelyJubbly #CelebratingLife #AboveAndBeyond

Ever Wondered What It's Like to Work in the Funeral Industry? We recently spoke with Steve, a Funeral Director at E.H. Crouch, about his journey into the profession, his passion for the role, and advice for those considering a career in the industry. How did your career evolve? I transitioned into the funeral industry after a career in the fire service, looking for a meaningful role where I could continue supporting my local community. A job advert led me to start as a Funeral Service Operative, progressing to Funeral Director after 18 months. Though uncertain at first, my passion for helping families gave me confidence. COVID was a tough but invaluable learning experience, teaching me how to adapt in high-pressure situations while ensuring families received the care and support they needed. What’s the most rewarding part? Helping families navigate difficult times. A simple “thank you” makes it all worthwhile. Our close-knit team is dedicated to the highest standards of care, and it’s inspiring to see how much everyone truly cares about their work. Knowing we can provide comfort and reassurance when families need it most is incredibly fulfilling. Advice for aspiring professionals? This career values character over experience. Many join after a personal loss, inspired by the impact a Funeral Director had on them. If you're compassionate, empathetic, and driven to help others, this role can be incredibly rewarding, offering a deep sense of purpose and the opportunity to

Steven Bulley recently joined Dignity as the Business Leader managing our Wolstenholme Funeral Directors in Lancashire. Below is what Steven had to say when asked about his first six weeks with Dignity.
Terry has been working at St Faiths Crematorium as heads groundsman in Norfolk for 60 years! He started his career at the young age of 15, and still holds this full-time position there today! He lovingly landscapes and maintains the remembrance gardens, and loves offering a friendly ear and sharing his gardening tips with families who visit to pay their respects to loved ones. The award-winning memorial gardens at St Faiths Crematorium complete with several water features are a testament to Terry's dedication, allowing families to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We can't thank Terry enough for his service to St Faiths Crematorium, and the community. Our heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to you Terry on this incredibly unique and significant milestone.
