Being shortlisted as a finalist in the Belfast Telegraph Business Awards for Workplace Health and Wellbeing is a milestone we’re incredibly proud of at Eakin Healthcare. Over the past few years, we’ve brought together multiple businesses under one umbrella - merging cultures, harmonising benefits, and building a shared way of working. This transformation has allowed us to focus on health and wellbeing as one unified organisation, creating space for conversations that truly matter. What brings us the most joy is sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues on topics that empower change - often shining a light on issues that might have been difficult to talk about, and which certainly wouldn’t have been discussed in the workplace even five years ago. We’re looking forward to getting our glad rags on for the awards night - but win or lose, the positive impact of our Strive wellbeing programme is felt every single day across Eakin Healthcare. hashtag#leadingwithcare hashtag#BelTelBusinessAwards hashtag#WorkplaceWellbeing
We’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on our Process Engineer, Jack Hopley, who has recently achieved a major milestone by completing his Higher Level Apprenticeship in Mechatronic Engineering with a Distinction in his Foundation Degree. But that’s not all! Jack managed this incredible academic and professional achievement while also moving house and welcoming his first child. (Baby Callum absolutely stealing your graduation spotlight!) Balancing work, study, and life’s biggest moments is no small feat. Jack’s dedication, resilience, and drive are a true inspiration to all of us across the business. 👏 Congratulations, Jack! We’re proud to have you as part of the team and can’t wait to see what you do next.

🌍 Today is Earth Overshoot Day - the date when humanity’s demand for ecological resources exceeds what Earth can regenerate in a year. At Eakin Healthcare, we recognise the urgent need to reduce our environmental impact and take meaningful action. That’s why we’re proud to announce that we’ve officially signed the Responsible Plastic Management (RPM) Program CIC Charter. By joining this global initiative, we’re committing to: ✅ Reducing plastic waste across our operations ✅ Promoting responsible sourcing and circularity ✅ Supporting innovation in sustainable healthcare packaging ✅ Collaborating with partners to drive systemic change This is just one step in our broader sustainability journey - but it’s an important one. Together, we can help #MoveTheDate and build a healthier planet for future generations.
We’re incredibly proud of our two representatives, Charlotte Marshall and John Cahir, who recently took part in the UN SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals. Last week, they had the exciting opportunity to pitch their innovative business solution - focused on sustainable product packaging and reducing plastic waste - to a panel of senior leaders and peers at King's College London. While they narrowly missed out on securing a spot at the United Nations Global Compact Leaders’ Summit in New York, their passion, creativity, and commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals have truly inspired us 👏 We can’t wait to see how they continue to drive positive change through their project.
Big News from Cardiff! We’re proud to unveil the world’s largest ostomy bag production line at Eakin Healthcare’s manufacturing site in Cardiff - a major milestone in our £9 million investment to transform production and meet rising global demand. Affectionately named “The Stomatic Line” by the creative pupils of Coed Glas Primary School, this 32-metre-long innovation will quadruple our output capacity, helping us meet demand of our flagship ModaVi ostomy pouches. This launch is part of a wider £60 million transformation programme designed to reshape and future proof the Eakin Healthcare manufacturing operations across the UK. With smart metering, a 60% reduction in production waste, and a purpose-built 10,000sq ft facility, this line sets a new standard for commercial and environmental responsibility. 👏 Huge thanks to the brilliant pupils of Coed Glas Primary School for naming this game-changing line!
