The story behind the Lunar New Year, also referred to as Chinese New Year, is that of a great race held by a famous Chinese deity, the Jade Emperor, to see which of the 12 animals in the kingdom would win and gain his favor. Each year honors and celebrates the 12 animals, and this year, 2022, is the year of the Tiger. Ying Guo, Jabil business management director, shares her traditions for the annual festival and why this year, in particular, means so much to her. The local chapters of the American Chambers of Commerce (AMCHAM) awarded both Jabil Penang and Singapore for their efforts in community engagement and advocacy in inclusive leadership. The #JabilCares Penang team was honored with the "Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)" award by AMCHAM Malaysia (American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce) in recognition of several CSR initiatives held in 2021, alongside 44 other AMCHAM member companies. In Singapore, May Yap, Jabil's senior vice president and CIO, won "Trailblazer of the Year" at AMCHAM's HERo Awards 2021 hosted by The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham Singapore) The AmCham Women HERo Awards program was created to celebrate women committed to influencing systemic changes in her organization to advance women leaders. Congratulations to the winning team at Jabil Healthcare in Bray, Ireland! They were just named Medtech Partner/Supplier of the Year at the Irish Medtech Awards 2021. IDA Ireland’s Medtech Director Rachel Shelly said that it is "great to recognize the success of Jabil Healthcare Bray, which won the Medtech Partner/Supplier of the Year award for its new molecular diagnostics product offering and has launched a COVID-PCR test device; and to recognize the company’s success in achieving Elite Shingo status". The Shingo Prize — awarded by the Shingo Institute — recognizes organizations that demonstrate an exceptional culture that fosters continuous improvement. The two awards, which came in quick succession, demonstrate how Jabil prioritizes operational excellence at our sites across the world.
