The latest instalment on our Medium Technical blog comes from Gernot Mueller. It's an excellent piece but personally I love his Medium Bio as much as the article itself - “Learning never exhausts the mind” — Jumio let’s me learn new things every day. Thanks, I love it!
Our awesome CMO, Anna Convery recently had a great interview with AITech Park. Her answers give a really accessible insight into the work Jumio does and the use of AI in our products. She also shares a cracking Seamus Heaney quote that's stuck with her. Well worth a read to learn more about Anna, AI and Jumio.
Great to see this recognition for the ongoing innovation at Jumio. The KYX Platform has won gold for access compliance and risk management innovation in the 2022 Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards.
The latest in our occasional series of technical blogs on Medium is a corker from Richard Bogdan - How to record screen captures during UI tests on Android. A well-designed UI test needs to provide targeted feedback on failure. Log inspection and test assertions can help, but images are more impactful and do more to aid in debugging. Taking this a step further, videos can provide even more context. Static images may miss a small sequence that is out of sync, or an animation that is missing frames. Unfortunately, developing for mobile devices introduces a great deal of complexity in not only capturing video but orchestrating capture in conjunction with a test and processing the video in a way that aids in debugging. We hope that sharing our method of recording Android devices will aid in your own development efforts!
Fantastic to welcome Susan to the Jumio team this week. “Jumio is entering a new phase of growth and development and we are delighted to welcome Susan at such a critical moment in the company’s evolution,” said Robert Prigge, Jumio CEO. “Susan’s experience in leading financial strategy in scaling technology organizations will support our high-velocity goals.”
It's a pleasure to welcome Stuart Wells to Jumio. He has an amazing track record and we're excited about the impact he's already having. The new innovation lab headed by Osvaldo is another great step - he and the team also bring a wealth of expertise to Jumio. Exciting times ahead.
This is a great interview with Jumio's Global VP of People and Culture, Megan Barbier. Well worth a listen if you're interested in how Jumio thinks (and acts) when it comes to culture. One of our key points is to focus on culture add not culture fit. The mindset of 'fit' implies a static state and that it's already perfect - whereas Megan knows that the culture of any business is dynamic and if you come at talent from a 'fit' perspective, you’re robbing your organization of the opportunity to improve and evolve and amplify the culture.
This is a great interview with Webster. It's the latest addition to our Inside Out series of interviews with Jumios and gives an insight into how Webster started his career - making the jump from line cook to IT. Well worth a read.

Another exciting bit of recognition for our KYX Platform and a great testament to our engineering, ML and product team for the great work they put into building the KYX platform. Sometimes people ask us what KYX means - lots of people know KYC (know your customer) but the KYX platform is for much more than Customers - it can help you Know Your Student, Patient, Partner etc etc etc - so 'Customer' just doesn't cover it - hence we have KYX platform not a KYC platform. An award winning one!
