🌬️🌊 Is the offshore wind industry ready to tackle its biggest challenges? The offshore wind sector is at a pivotal moment, facing both exciting growth and significant hurdles. With the UK aiming for an ambitious 50GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030 and floating technology making waves, the future looks bright. However, supply chain constraints and investment challenges remain. Kent is at the forefront of this industry transformation. We're engineering ~12GW of offshore wind projects off the UK coast and providing critical support to burgeoning projects around the world. In this article with Energy Digital, Cerianne Cummings, shares her insights on the rapid growth and evolving challenges of the offshore wind sector.
Can we truly turn off hydrocarbons overnight and rely solely on renewables? While the shift towards renewables is essential, an abrupt stop to hydrocarbons could jeopardise global energy security and disrupt numerous industries. In this article by Hart Energy, Tom Ayers and Ron Duguid explain why an all-or-nothing approach to energy transition isn’t feasible and share insights on the role that decarbonisation is playing in this journey. If you’re interested in learning more about decarbonisation technologies such as absorption, adsorption, membrane separation, and oxy-fuel combustion, and where the world stands with capturing carbon, this article is for you.
At Kent, safety is at the heart of everything we do. Led by our senior leaders and embraced by every team member, we view safety and sustainability as a shared responsibility. Together, we work to minimise risks, continuously improve, and promote transparency and equality, all while striving for a sustainable future for everyone. That's why The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has awarded us the RoSPA Gold Award for health and safety performance. 🏆 Our journey to this achievement includes: 🦺 Maintaining a Total Recordable Incident Rate below 0.050 💪 Earning ISO certifications in Health and Safety, Environmental Management, and Quality Management 💡 Implementing a top-notch HSE management system that ensures seamless access and accuracy Thank you to our incredible team, clients, and partners for their unwavering support and trust. Together, we're making the world a safer and more responsible place. 🌍
At Kent, we're leading the energy transition by breaking new ground in renewable energy, whilst decarbonising oil and gas production from within. The Grenian Hydrogen Project is a true testament to our commitment to innovation and sustainability. As the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contractor, we're leading the development of six green hydrogen projects within the HyNet cluster in North-West England and North Wales. Funded by the UK Government’s DESNZ Net Zero Hydrogen Fund, this initiative, a joint venture between Progressive Energy, Statkraft, and Foresight, aims to create PEM electrolyser-based hydrogen production, storage, and delivery facilities, producing 10MW to 30MW of green hydrogen. Want to learn more about this and other groundbreaking projects? Drop by our stand D142 at the Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition and see firsthand how we are leading the charge in the energy transition! 🚀🌱
We've become members of Supply Nation, Australia’s largest national directory of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations! 🎉 As part of our commitment to lift the communities where we operate, we are dedicated to creating meaningful connections and opportunities that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses to thrive. We have been at the forefront of the offshore wind revolution, playing a pivotal role in delivering some of the most groundbreaking projects worldwide. In the UK, our Kent Offshore Wind team has been involved in developing ~70% of the nation’s offshore wind farms. One of the projects we’re always proud of is the St. Brieuc Wind Farm in Britanny, where we successfully designed the jacket foundations and are now supporting the offshore installation of these jackets with drilled and grouted piles. This project marks a significant milestone in the industry as it introduces the world's first WTG jacket foundation installed with piles grouted into rock. We’re pushing the boundaries of innovation in the offshore wind industry.
It has been an incredible two days at the Australian Energy Producers Congress and Exhibition. Chris Jones’ delivered an insightful presentation on brownfield modifications, showcasing how existing gas production facilities can be adapted for CCS operations. Additionally, Jacob de Boer presented a valuable session on 'Megawatts to Methane – a deep dive into emissions reduction for regional gas-based Ammonia plants,' contributing to new industry standards. With over 45 years of leading impactful energy projects in #Australia, we are committed to helping lower the nation's carbon footprint and secure its energy requirements. Visit our stand No. 38 to connect with our team and learn more about our projects.
