Out now - our #UK Gender Pay Gap report for 2023 This year's figures—22.9% median and 21.3% mean pay gaps—reflect our evolution, with the integration of our Engineering Projects business and a significant organisational reshuffle post the completion of our acquisition. Despite these structural changes making direct year-on-year comparisons challenging, we're proud of our progress, especially in our UK Consulting business, where we've narrowed the gap ever so slightly. Our latest Sustainability Report outlined that our carbon emissions were 40,583.05 T CO₂, with most of those emissions coming from our operational sites. So, we rolled up our sleeves and got hands-on to make a positive change. We're piloting different sustainability initiatives at various operational locations, with plans to roll them out further. From embracing solar energy to power our operations, upgrading to more efficient generators, and shifting to hybrid vehicles wherever possible - we’re all in for a 30% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2027. In this article, Bryan Horton, sheds light on the critical role Severe Weather Action Plans (SWAP) play in accurately establishing de-staffing thresholds based on forecast wave heights, enabling the safe evacuation of personnel from offshore structures prior to extreme weather events. However, defining these thresholds and translating analysis results into actionable procedures is complex. Kent's Structural and Technical Safety teams are on the frontlines, assisting decision-makers with interpreting the analysis results that inform the SWAP.
