Bobbi's Journey at MPAAS: I Joined MPAAS in January of 2023 as an Internal Recruiter. Once I started, I got straight into speaking with engineers on a day-to-day basis, filling multiple positions across the business and getting MPAAS’s name out there. My favourite part of this role is the job satisfaction. We often travel down to London to hold assessment days for full upskilled courses, meaning we can take someone with no qualifications in smart metering and upskill them to fully qualified engineers. There are many different departments within MPAAS, I sit close to our HR department. HR is always something I have had an interest in but unfortunately haven’t gained any qualifications or experience that would qualify me for a HR position. Late this year a position opened up within our HR department and with seeing how much MPAAS invest in our employees with the upskilling programmes that have taken place for our field staff, I thought why not apply. Within a week I found out I had been successful, not only had I been successful, MPAAS also proposed the full funded CIPD qualification to me if I wanted to go for it. This was amazing to me; I could not only learn on the job but also achieve a qualification alongside of it. I start my role in January 2024, which marks one year of me being with MPAAS. This truly reflects on MPAAS’s morals, it is not about the length of time you have worked for the company, if they see potential, they will fully invest in you and your career.
Over the past month, our Head of Talent Acquisition, Gareth Cottom & Internal Recruiter, Bobbi Whitfield have been hosting assessment days for our fully funded Trainee Smart Meter Engineer Programme. This programme is a 17 week training course which is fully funded by MPAAS and is open to anyone who has an interest in becoming a Smart Meter Engineer and joining the Net Zero revolution! Gareth & Bobbi met and spoke to a large number of people interested in the opportunity and were delighted to be able to offer 8 individuals to start on our Trainee Programme. If you are based inside the M25 and are interested in becoming a Smart Meter Engineer, please keep an eye on further updates as we will be hosting further assessment days in November and into 2024!
MPAAS Open Evening Last week MPAAS hosted an open evening to welcome anyone interested in joining us and our back office team. Due to further growth, we had multiple vacancies across our Scheduling and Optimisation Support Teams. This gave candidates an opportunity to view our offices, meet members of the back office team along with some senior management in an informal manner. We had some great feedback of how the open evening was organised, on the back of this we were able to offer a number of people opportunities to join us!
