Human care. Smart technology. One integrated platform. What’s our latest addition? At Omada, we care for members with multiple chronic conditions, and now that includes high cholesterol. Chronic disease doesn’t travel alone and we believe that the best health care delivery model is a holistic one where all facets of a member’s life, including comorbidities, are incorporated into the care plan. That’s what’s behind Omada for Cholesterol. 86 million Americans are living with cholesterol levels that increase cardiovascular risk. Through innovation, impact, and whole-person care, we’re here to help change that. Together. Learn more about our research and innovation process: https://buff.ly/31nWb37
❓True or false? While taking a GLP-1, all that matters is seeing the number on the scale go down. ❌False! It begs the question: who is – and isn’t – being set up for long-term weight loss success? Many people may not even be aware of the GLP-1 side effect of losing lean mass caused by rapid weight loss. In fact, resistance training staying strong–or even getting stronger–and boosting metabolism while taking a GLP-1 can help preserve lean mass while maintaining a healthy weight for the long haul. Learn more, including what Omada is doing to help GLP-1 members preserve muscle mass in our recent whitepaper. https://buff.ly/KbBmwNv
Omada’s Chief Medical Officer, Thomas Tsang, MD, MPH recently spoke with Fierce Healthcare about why high cholesterol can’t be treated as an afterthought in cardiometabolic care. With up to 70% of adults with obesity also living with high cholesterol, many still never reach healthy LDL levels, likely because support is episodic. Our new offering, Omada for Cholesterol, is designed to meet members where they’re at with between‑visit support and human‑led coaching amplified by AI, all in the same integrated platform that supports obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and GLP-1s. Omada for Cholesterol is virtual care designed for everyday cholesterol management that adapts to how people actually live. Unlike programs that treat cholesterol as a standalone stat or a one-time intervention, we approach cholesterol management with ongoing support that’s part of overall cardiometabolic care. This reflects how cardiovascular risk actually develops: gradually, across daily decisions, and often alongside other cardiometabolic conditions. For large employers, covering GLP-1s is no longer a “yes/no” decision. These medications are reshaping health benefits at a scale we haven’t seen in decades—and large employers are defining what happens next. In this month’s edition of Proof Points, Britt Buntman, Omada’s VP of GLP‑1 & Cardiometabolic Health, unpacks why a simple “yes/no” coverage decision is no longer viable when you’re responsible for thousands of lives and a finite benefits budget.

Employers are under pressure to offer GLP-1s but need options that won’t blow up budgets. Omada’s new GLP-1 Flex Care adds a path for employers to support obesity care while keeping medication spend outside the plan. With GLP-1 Flex Care, eligible members receive clinical evaluation, lab ordering, prescribing of FDA-approved GLP-1 medications, and ongoing virtual care and lifestyle support. Members then purchase medications independently through reputable cash-pay channels, helping employers limit direct exposure to medication costs. Why should benefits leaders care? GLP-1 demand is growing, and this model adds room to maneuver as pricing and coverage policies continue to shift—without forcing a choice between access and affordability.
