OutsideClinic has launched a new lightweight kit bag for their optometrists, which promises to make their day-to-day work more efficient and comfortable. As part of it’s mission to be the best place to work in optics and audiology, OutsideClinic has introduced this new bag following feedback from optometrists who found the bags too heavy and challenging to use. The innovation was designed by OutsideClinic colleagues, Southwest Regional Manager, Dan Young and Senior Designer, Jon Richards, who wanted to improve the daily experience for optometrists. The new design features pre-cut slots for each piece of equipment, reducing the risk of damage during transit and making it easier to see if something has been left behind. Moreover, it has the company’s branding, helping promote OutsideClinic’s services. The £2.2m project will see the company replace its 222 strong fleet of petrol and diesel cars with electric and hybrid alternatives, with many being replaced by the electric Volkswagen ID.4. These new vehicles will be used by its growing team of clinicians as they deliver clinics in a variety of domiciliary settings, including patients’ homes and care homes. So far, 88 vehicles have already been replaced with the Volkswagen ID.4, while 94 charging points have been installed at clinicians’ homes. Once completed, it is expected that the switch will reduce OutsideClinic’s annual carbon footprint by an estimated 638 tonnes.

Mr Kellogg’s is a 29” tall miniature Shetland therapy pony, on his quest to bring joy to those who need it. Miniature ponies often visit care homes, even getting in lifts, to see residents who cannot leave their rooms. They are gentle and affectionate, and the residents love interacting with the ponies. They are known to offer therapeutic benefits to the vulnerable, elderly and very young as they are very intuitive and responsive to the emotions of the people around them. Mr Kellogg's wore special tabards to prevent any accidents left behind, giving everyone peace of mind. He brought a smile to everyone's face as he walked around the garden and inside the home, even visiting residents in their bedrooms, letting everyone stroke him and giving him kisses.
As the UK’s largest and fastest growing provider of home eye care services, we have launched our first national television advert in almost a decade, as it looks to increase awareness amongst older people that they may be eligible for an NHS-funded eye test at home. While 460,000 eye tests were conducted in a domiciliary environment in 2020, research indicates that 2.7m people in the UK would benefit from such care, suggesting the majority of suitable people either don’t know about domiciliary eye care or there is not enough provision in their area. The 30-second television advert will run through Sky AdSmart to allow for improved targeting of housebound customers. The commercial follows the journey of a customer, from having an eye test in the comfort of her own home to receiving her new glasses and then fully enjoying the benefits of improved eyesight.
OutsideClinic, the UK’s largest and fastest growing provider of domiciliary eye and hearing care, is pleased to announce that it has agreed a deal to acquire Saltash headquartered hearing specialist bloom hearing specialists (‘bloom’) for an undisclosed sum. The deal will see the company acquire the UK assets of bloom from Denmark-headquartered hearing aid manufacturer WS Audiology (WSA), with WSA retaining ownership of bloom outside of the UK. The move comes as OutsideClinic looks to further consolidate its position as the largest and fastest growing provider of domiciliary eye and hearing care in the UK - with the company aiming to grow by a further 20% over the next 18 months as it bids to help record numbers of patients and ensure that everyone who needs it has access to high quality hearing and eye care. Upon completion, bloom’s 65-strong UK team will join the OutsideClinic business, to create a powerhouse operation that will comprise over 170 colleagues working in audiology.
