This week, Leisha Shorey our lead creative recruiter for production, offers insights on working in a creative role at Viacom. Q: What excites you about hiring for creatives? A: I think I have the best job in the house because I hire the people who create our shows. These people are in one of the most critical areas of our business because we are an entertainment and content company. With Viacom Digital Studios (VDS) for example, there are opportunities for audience development and content creators. We have some of the most brilliant minds in the business here and seeing them excel is incredibly exciting. Q: How would you describe the creative culture here at Viacom? A: There is an energy here that I don’t think can be replicated anywhere else you go. We take risks, particularly with our content, and I think we’ve had lots of successes as well as failures but we celebrate them, learn from them, and we go out swinging.
