Team Phoenix Talks We catch up with Joshua Ley, Sales Executive about what it’s like being new at Phoenix. How did you find the recruitment process? My first interview was an introduction to Phoenix. Everyone I spoke to made me feel extremely relaxed and welcome. The second interview was more about me; if the role and culture was the right match for me. What’s your experience of working at Phoenix so far? Our team leader always finds time to speak to me, and everyone is always happy to help. This supportive environment makes me feel confident in my role. Even starting remotely, I felt a strong sense of friendship and know I will always have the support I need. If you have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn, there is everything here to support you to excel at your job. What training is available to support your development? I have continued to learn and develop and there is always encouragement to expand your knowledge and skills. Phoenix provides the tools and resources you need to grow both professionally and personally – the only limits set are by yourself.
Team Phoenix Talks We chat to our Marketing and Events Executive, Jo Halley – who has been with us for 27 years. What’s your experience of working at Phoenix? Ever since joining, it’s been amazing! I’ve met so many lovely people over the years. Our values are strong and realistic, and they’re implemented every day, particularly through our employee networks. Why do you think Phoenix has been recognised as one of the UK’s ‘Best Companies to Work For’? Phoenix truly values its employees and is proactive in recognising our achievements. My colleagues from across the business make it such a great place to work, so our recognition of being one of the best UK companies to work for comes as no surprise to me. I feel privileged and proud to be part of such an amazing organisation. How would you describe the culture at Phoenix? We’re a team and that really shines through in everything we do. Despite growing, we’ve managed to retain a family feel to the business, and everyone’s door is always open. Our work culture is genuine, loyal, and supportive. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.
Supporting diverse tech talent in the north Our dedication to diversity and inclusion continues as we drive opportunities for the North West’s diverse talent pool. Continuing our commitment to diversity and inclusion within our company, the technology industry, and the communities we serve, we’re driving regeneration in the north and nurture the future of the industry by partnering with HOST, one of the North West’s most established innovation hubs. Our Managing Director, Samantha Mudd comments, “As a fast-growing business, we understand what’s needed for business growth and the challenges that come with that. To create a diverse and inclusive tech industry we must actively seek out diverse talent by connecting with communities that may not have considered a career in tech and showcasing the opportunities available to them.” With the means to facilitate networking, we will support Salford University and the region’s wider talent with career guidance and career development and progression opportunities for graduates, young people, and those with foundation skills in IT and tech.
