👏 This week marks 16 years since PitchBook was founded, and to celebrate the occasion we're reminiscing on some major moments throughout our company's history. Take a look at some highlights from over the years here: from when Founder and CEO John Gabbert began PitchBook in a small, windowless office in Seattle to opening global offices and being acquired by Morningstar, and more. ➡️ What's one of your favorite PitchBook memories? At PitchBook, our first core value is ‘Customers are King’ and we believe the communities we live and work in deserve the same treatment. We celebrated our first Global Day of Caring where over 400 employees participated by taking the day to volunteer with 15 non-profit organizations. Employees in London tended to animals and gardens at a local farm, New Yorkers built financial literacy kits for Boys & Girls Club, San Francisco cleaned up a beach and volunteers got their hands dirty at P-Patches throughout Seattle. PitchBook also raised over $22,000 for these organizations and an additional donation of $15,000 from our employee resource group, PBCares.
Team building and collaboration are an essential part of the PitchBook culture. Our London team recently competed in a Tough Mudder event that is built on a foundation of teamwork and overcoming obstacles. PitchBook London had no choice but to muck in – and everyone did so with excitement, passion, and determination 💪🏽 Chester from the Business Development team said his favourite part was meeting fellow PitchBook employees for the first time and working together to overcome obstacles.
It all started with seven people working in a 200-square-foot, windowless office. Founder John Gabbert pursued an idea his former employer nixed—a database that covered private equity. Fifteen years later, PitchBook is now a global company with close to 2,000 employees and rapidly growing. On our 15th anniversary, we celebrated each other and came together to listen to John Gabbert and our COO, Rod Diefendorf. We reminisced on all the memories we had made and got excited for what the next fifteen years will hold. Happy 15th Anniversary, PitchBook! Here is too many more years.
Chúc mừng năm mới and Happy Lunar New Year from PitchBook! This year we celebrated the year of the tiger with a traditional Lion Dance, with employees from all over the world tuning in to enjoy the show. We also heard stories from PitchBook employees sharing their Lunar New Year customs. Here is to a year of luck, prosperity, health, and happiness.
After four years of employment at PitchBook, our employees receive the opportunity to take a 6-week sabbatical. Hear from one of our employees who recently took her sabbatical, and when she returned to work, she felt recharged and refocused to take on new challenges.
In 2021, the PitchBook Events and Customer Experience Team hosted three customer golf tournaments in London, New York, and San Francisco. We design these events to remind our clients that PitchBook is here to support an impeccable customer experience while also supporting our communities. Attendees purchase a ticket to participate, and then PitchBook matches the total amount raised. At the end of the tournament, the winning team gets to select a charity to donate the lump sum! This year, we raised over $50,000 for charities near and dear to our client's hearts.
Our PitchBook London Cricket team finished their final match of the season! While the team did not win, fellow PitchBook employees were there to cheer them on while enjoying the warm summer evening and each other's company! After a year and a half of separation, it felt good to be with our colleagues and 'Make It Fun'!
Despite the ups and downs of the Pandemic, our team remains committed to our values: we treat customers as kings, focus on focus, drive excellence and embrace change - all while making it fun. We’re honored to be named a Best Workplace for the 7th time by Puget Sound Business Journal. Thanks to our employees for making PitchBook such a special workplace.
PitchBook is proud to announce that we placed 1st in the Technology Sector of Food Lifeline's Food Frenzy Corporate food drive! At PitchBook, Customers are King, and we believe our community deserves the same treatment. That is why through our philanthropy initiative, we volunteer our time, expertise, and financial resources to help build a future for the communities where we live and work. As part of Food Frenzy, volunteers spent over 180 hours repacking 5,550 lbs. of potatoes, sorting 4,288 lbs. of apples, organizing 5,838 lbs. of household items, bagging 1,200 lbs. of cereal as well collected food and financial donations to contribute to this win!
