On today's World Health Day 2022, we want to increase awareness of health and well-being topics. At Software AG we live a "People First Culture”, we know how crucial well-being is for our people, our company’s success, and the global economy! Not only the climate crisis threatens our health, but we also need to be aware of the challenging demands the New Working World has on our mental health. Software AG offers great initiatives (workshops, sessions with internal and external experts) to all employees worldwide, by letting them spend one day focusing on their health. It's a great event that also reflects the WHO's quote: - Are we able to reimagine a world where clean air, water, and food are available to all. - Where economies are focused on health and well-being. - Where cities are livable, and people have control over their health and the health of the planet. It is not only about fasting and praying, but also about helping people in need. Below are interesting facts: Fasting is not only about obtaining food and drinks, it also serves a different purpose which includes heightening religious experience, developing self-control & increasing our sympathy for the unfortunate. Many charity activities are conducted during this period. The community is getting closer together, volunteers serve iftar daily in mosques and even at traffic lights there are volunteers distributing iftar packages for those who cannot make it in time for iftar. It is a time when families, friends and loved ones come together to break their fast and celebrate "Eid Al Fitr" at the end of the month.
Today a very special holiday takes place in India - Holi Hai* and offices in Bangalore, Hyderabad & Virar will be closed! But, why is Holi so special in India? It is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as "Festival of Colors", "Indian festival of spring" and "festival of love". It marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring in India. It is a day when families, friends and neighbors get together and play with water and colors. It’s a day when there are no barriers to age, gender or status - everyone is there to laugh and play, forget and forgive and to use an opportunity to repair broken relationships. It’s a day filled with love, laughter and lots of pranks. *Holi Hai is the Hindi way of saying “it is Holi” with an expression
What do the films #StarTrek, #JerryMaguire, #Titanic have in common? They all tell a story - stories of success, perseverance, challenges and team spirit. And that is exactly what we Software AG did as well . We shared OUR #successStory during our virtual #blockbuster #GoToMarketKickOff2022. And the best thing is this Kick-Off was for everyone! The main cast were our #employees, followed by other leading roles such as Christian Lucas, Managing Director at Silver Lake and Chairman of Software AG's Supervisory Board, Silver Lake's partner Jim Whitehurst and Andrew Gordon from Pixar Animation Studios. Together we explored what storytelling means for customer engagement and how we can all achieve personal and shared success. One thing became quite apparent on the way - we need to change the way we play in order to compete but we cannot do it without the right #culturalframework. This is so true so let us together write the script for our next success story where each and every one of us plays the leading role. Today is #InternationalDayOfPersonsWithDisabilities and we kicked off our week with a virtual roundtable focusing on exactly that: Disability Inclusion hosted by our CEO Sanjay Brahmawar. We truly believe in a #PeopleFirstCulture and I feel proud that Software AG is continuously working on building a truly diverse and inclusive organization where everyone is encouraged and enabled to contribute their own unique strengths and capabilities. Thank you Courtney Brown, Catriona Janes and Sibongile Nongwe for showing us that everything is possible and regardless of challenges, everyone has their own #uniquestrengths that collectively make Software AG stronger. We still have much to learn and we need to continue to break down silos by talking openly about #DisabilityInclusion not just today but every day.
