Peter Randazzo is a business analyst at the CII. A family member of Peter’s, who lives alone in Toronto, was scheduled to have surgery. While Peter’s relative normally lives independently, driving would not be possible for a week following the operation, so Peter and his partner took the opportunity to fly to Toronto to visit – and more importantly, to be nearby to assist his relative. This was only possible because of the CII’s investment in, and support for, agile working. With his laptop, MiCollab and Skype for Business, Peter could work from Toronto during London business hours – allowing him and his partner to be available to help his relative in the afternoons. Peter said: “I was able to maintain productivity while being 3,500 miles away! I took 10 calls via MiCollab, four peer calls with Skype, and attended 14 meetings via Skype, all while being near enough to my family member in case I was needed.”
As part of the Telling Our Story workstream the CII's Annual Report programme was reviewed and steps were taken to ensure that future reports would clearly communicate our strategic aims to our members and non-members. Good practice in annual reporting and accounts was also applied to set a new standard for the future and to ensure consistency in future years. As part of the review a new Annual Report microsite has been created which contains additional videos and an Our Stories section, which we will continue to add content to. Both reports are also available to download from the site, which features the CII's new visual identity. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQcXX
