Here at Vetsource we’re proud to recognize the career moves our employees are making. Victor Obamen joined Vetsource in December 2022 as a pricing analyst, a new role at the time. Victor took initiative and suggested ideas to improve his role and build it out. Victor was recently promoted to senior pricing analyst and is excited to take on more responsibility, work on Vetsource’s retail pricing strategy, and see the positive impact of keeping our prices competitive. His advice for anyone considering a career move is to develop a passion for what you do because that drive will always motivate you to do better. “Kudos to the team that I joined because they were passionate. That pushed me to want to do more,” Victor says. All of us at Vetsource are looking forward to seeing where Victor’s journey takes him!
Designed to help foster an inclusive culture and increase professional development, Vetsource’s associate resource groups (ARGs) are based on uplifting and empowering colleagues with shared identities and values. All associates are encouraged to participate, whether they identify with the group or as an ally. Recently, the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) joined forces with Parents and Caregivers for Equity (PACE) for powerful informational sessions. They brought in an inspiring speaker from an organization dedicated to supporting those affected by domestic violence. This collaborative event came about when WIN and PACE realized both groups were interested in learning more about the topic and providing resources to their members. “It was an informative and compassionate overview of an important topic that touches a lot of lives,” said one attendee. “The presenter had a lot of experience working with impacted folks and I appreciated learning from them.” We’re proud of our associates for their work in our ARGs and for creating spaces within Vetsource where everyone can thrive. This month’s associate spotlight is Jessica Morales, a lead pharmacy technician at Vetsource’s pharmacy in Portland, Oregon. Jessica has been with Vetsource for almost 4 years and has experience in both the workflow and inventory teams — filling and shipping orders, receiving shipments of medication, inputting info into the inventory system, and bringing medications onto the work floor. Now, as a lead, she provides support across multiple teams by answering questions, handling tough situations, and making sure we are meeting our goals to get medications shipped out to pet owners as soon as possible. In Jessica’s first week at Vetsource, she felt that the work environment was very warm and welcoming. She loves how the team, leaders, and mentors come together to “get it done,” one of Vetsource’s core values. The positive experience that she had as soon as she started at Vetsource is what motivates her to continue learning and growing in her career. We’re proud to welcome a new member to the talent acquisition team! Lily Anderson, who lives in Washington state with her 6-year-old golden retriever named Charlie, joined Vetsource two months ago as a talent acquisition partner. Lily has 11 years of experience in talent acquisition and was initially interested in Vetsource because she wanted to contribute to a mission that she was passionate about while learning a new industry. In her time here, she’s enjoyed learning more about Vetsource’s culture and commitment to DEI. In her role, Lily supports the hiring needs of our operational groups, such as the pharmacy facilities and call center. “I enjoy talking to different people and getting to be a part of their growth or careers, for both hiring managers and candidates,” she says. “Extending offers is always fun!”
This month’s associate spotlight is Trevor Maxwell, a technical business analyst based in British Columbia, Canada! Trevor has a cat named Simba and has been with Vetsource for over a year. In his role, Trevor tests and maintains the flow of information between our veterinary practice partners and Vetsource, tackles data freshness issues, and makes data look nice for Vetsource’s analysts to handle. In addition to data analysts, Trevor usually collaborates with development and data support teams. When Trevor was interviewing for his role, he really liked hearing about Vetsource’s culture and vision. After being at Vetsource, he also appreciates the ownership, flexibility, problem solving, and critical thinking aspects of his role. Since the proper flow of data helps veterinary practices provide quality care for pets and their owners, Trevor likes how “it’s easy to see the immediate impact of my work.” We feature associate spotlights to highlight the diverse backgrounds of our team and why they enjoy working at Vetsource.

In his role, he is responsible for providing excellent customer service to pet parents and veterinary clinics that use Vetsource’s prescription management service. Despite his remote role, Kobe has enjoyed the immersive onboarding, training, and work culture that Vetsource has. He was surprised to not only learn about Associate Resource Groups — which help foster an inclusive culture and increase professional development — and fun call center events like trivia time, but also see how often our leaders get involved as well. In addition, Kobe appreciates Vetsource’s commitment to DEI. “I don’t have to look far to see the diversity in our associates, which is so nice,” he says.
