We had the best time with the UCF Programming Team! Delivering pizza and fresh conversations about accesso tech and the opportunities they have ahead. The UCF Programming Team originally started competing in the Association for Computing Machinery's International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) in the 1982-1983 academic year. The team has competed every single year since then, always placing a team in the top three (a feat not duplicated by any other school in their region). This team constantly amazes us with their ever-curious minds, sheer talent, and motivation to shape the future of tech!
This Disability Awareness month we are proud to announce that we have launched a partnership with Inclusively as part of our continued DEI efforts. Why Inclusively? Globally, people with disabilities are the largest minority group. In the U.S., more than one in four adults — are living with some type of disability, and in 2021 only 19% were employed. This new partnership will help us change that, by providing us with a suite of resources to help us to better hire, support and provide accommodations for individuals with disabilities. We recognize that creating a welcoming environment where everyone can thrive is a team effort. For this reason, Inclusively will be hosting a variety of training sessions for our team members to help us better understand the ways we can build a more inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome and supported.
