For some, a bonus is simply a little bit of extra money given before Christmas or at the end of the financial year. But, for many, a bonus makes up a significant amount of their annual income and is relied upon. So, which jobs pay the biggest bonuses? According to Glassdoor’s latest report(1), Enterprise Sales Managers now receive the highest bonuses in the UK, knocking Global Account Manager into second position (#1 in 2016). Global Account Managers (#2) and Partners (#3) complete the top three spots as they receive bonuses of £33,500 and £30,000 respectively. Chief Operating Officers (#4) just miss out on a top three position with interesting newcomer, Kitchen Designers (#6), entering the top 10 above CEO (#8) in Glassdoor’s second annual bonus list. According to the Office for National Statistics(3), the average bonus paid per employee in the year to March 2017 is £1,600. Only 64 percent of those surveyed say that their organisation is satisfactory at clearly setting expectations of compensation and benefits within job postings. Methodology: For a job title to be considered in Glassdoor’s report, UK Jobs Paying The Highest Bonuses, a minimum number of 25 bonus reports must have been submitted by UK-based employees over a two year period (21/9/15 - 20/9/2017). In the case of a tie, the job with the highest amount of bonus reports within the eligibility period would take the higher position. If that also ties, we look at highest amount of base pay reports submitted.
