The job market is booming and employers are eager to hire top talent. However, recruiters are not the only ones advertising open jobs. Scammers posting fake job listings for fake employers are also on the web, looking to take advantage of unsuspecting job seekers in order to steal your personal information.

Glassdoor actively monitors job postings to find those that violate our Terms of Use. We remove job postings that Glassdoor suspects are fraudulent.

However, fraudulent job postings can appear and we want you to use caution in your job search.

Here are some tips to help you recognise a suspicious job posting, including what you should, or should not, do if you suspect you’ve come across one:

  • Do not send money to a prospective employer.
  • Do not send money to anyone claiming to have found you a job as part of working for Glassdoor (We don't do this).
  • Do not give out personal or financial account information to a new employer via email.
  • Do not cash checks or transfer funds for your employer.
  • Beware of job postings that ask you to send your resume to a free email address.
  • Beware of spelling errors and bad grammar.
  • If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Do your homework. Be sure to research any job opportunity that interests you.

If you see a suspicious job posting, please notify Glassdoor by contacting us. Please include the link to the job posting on Glassdoor in your email. We will look into the matter.

If you think you have been a victim of fraud, immediately report the fraud to your local police and contact Glassdoor.

We also suggest you file an online report:
