It seems that everyone is telling you to get a job you love because it will never feel like work, but what if you don’t know what it is you’d love to do? Many people think that the safest move to make is to get any job, but when you don’t love what you do, you’ll have an unhappy workplace experience. Think how many years we spend at work, wouldn’t you prefer spending those years doing something that makes you happy, rather than dreading going into work because it makes you unhappy. How then, do you find out what would be your dream job?   What are you passionate about? Don’t think about jobs for a minute, just think about what makes your heart sing. It might be skateboarding, technology, social media, horses, cars, video editing, writing, designing, fashion, gardening, whatever it is, it should make you smile when you think about it. Now visualise doing what you’re passionate about every day, it just wouldn't feel like work, would it? "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." - Confucius What companies do you like? They may have a job that you’ve not even considered before or even heard of before because with the speed of technology new job roles are being created all the time. Temp until you find your calling Don’t put yourself under pressure to get your dream job immediately, especially when you have no idea what it is. This is slightly difficult when you have no idea of what it is you want. Saying that you can start building a picture, like the foundations of a house, building it brick by brick until you get a complete picture. A vision board is a board can be a real pin board or an online version where you visually collect everything you'd like to have in your life. At the top of your board add  “Dream Job” and then start adding to it. Add pictures of your ideal work location, benefits you want, so if you’d like to play ping pong at lunch add a picture of a ping pong table, and so on. When ideas come to you, pin them in pictures to your vision board. You’ll be surprised how quickly your dream job will start to form. “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.”  Steve Jobs Apply for your dream job on Glassdoor right now.
