You’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining and improving our industry forecasts, working closely with experienced analysts and contributing to projects that support operators, vendors, regulators and investors globally. If you enjoy combining data analysis with industry insight and want to grow your profile in a collaborative international team, this is an exciting opportunity to do so.

Matthew Iji – Head of Forecasting and Modelling

About the Team

GSMA Intelligence is the definitive source of global mobile operator data, analysis and forecasts. Our Forecasting and Modelling team is responsible for building and maintaining industry-leading datasets and forecasting models covering mobile connections, subscribers, financials, network technologies, IoT and consumer trends across every mobile market worldwide.

The team works closely with our Data Collection, Research and Consulting teams to ensure our insights remain accurate, relevant and commercially valuable. As the telecoms industry evolves towards new technologies, business models and AI-enabled services, the team continues to expand its analytical capabilities and forecasting coverage. You’ll join a collaborative and supportive environment where you’ll have the opportunity to develop technical expertise, industry knowledge and analytical confidence while contributing to work used across the global mobile ecosystem.

About the Role

As an Analyst within the Forecasting and Modelling team, you will support the production and maintenance of GSMA Intelligence forecasts and datasets across a defined group of countries and operators. You’ll work with large volumes of industry data to help build accurate and commercially relevant forecasts covering areas such as mobile subscribers, network adoption, revenues, capex and technology migration.

You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across forecasting, data collection and research teams to ensure data consistency and improve modelling quality. Alongside quantitative analysis, you’ll develop a strong understanding of telecoms industry trends and market dynamics to help explain forecast assumptions and market developments.

Success in the role will come from your ability to combine analytical rigor with curiosity and attention to detail. You’ll gain ownership of specific markets and datasets, contribute to forecasting projects and research outputs, and build confidence communicating insights to internal stakeholders. You’ll also have opportunities to develop specialist expertise in areas such as mobile networks, financial analysis or consumer behaviour as your experience grows.

About You

You’ll bring strong analytical thinking and a genuine interest in the mobile and technology industry. You’ll enjoy working with data and using multiple sources of information to build accurate and meaningful insights. You’ll also be comfortable learning new tools, methodologies and market concepts in a fast-moving environment.

You’ll need to communicate effectively with colleagues across different teams and be able to explain your findings clearly and confidently. Attention to detail, adaptability and a willingness to learn will help you succeed in a role where priorities and industry trends continue to evolve.

Experience working with datasets, forecasting, modelling or market analysis would be beneficial, alongside strong Excel and data-handling skills. Exposure to telecoms, technology, financial analysis or research environments would also be valuable, though an enthusiasm for learning and developing industry expertise is equally important.
